Chapter 11 Linda-Lee and Joe are the first ones to wake up. Joe- I'm hungry. Linda-Lee- Yeah, me two. Hey, you want to run to the Waffle House with me? Joe- Ok, go get dressed and ill leave them a note. Linda-Lee- Ok, be right there. She gets dressed without waking anyone up and Joe leaves them a note that reads: Dear, Kevin, Nick, Jessica, Alana, and everyone else, Linda-Lee and I went on a run to The Waffle House for breakfast; you can come when you wake up. Love, Joe By the time they get there and order 45 minutes have past. Joe- So? Linda-Lee- So? Joe- So why did you live with your Grandparents? Linda-Lee- Well there not really my Grandparents there Jessica?s. Joe- Oh?Well why did you live with them? Linda-Lee- Do you remember 9/11? Joe- Yeah. Linda-Lee- Well are parents were CEOs at the buildings, My mom Jessica?s mom and Alana?s dad were in one and My dad, Jessica?s dad, and Alana?s mom were in the other. And one day they were all in a meeting and they didn?t make it out on time. Joe- I am so sorry. Tears start rolling down her face but she tries to hide them. Linda-Lee- Its fine?I?m just?going to ah?freshen up?in ah the bathroom. Joe- Uh? She runs off before he can answer. With everyone else. Alana- Where is everyone? Nick- I don?t know. Hey, there?s a note here from Linda-Lee and Nick. Alana- What does it say? They read the note. Nick- Do you want to go? Alana- Sure?Ill go get Jessica, Kevin, and your Mom & Dad. Nick- Ok and ill go get Katie and Frankie those love birds. Alana- Ha ha ok be right back. They meet back in the kitchen. Nick- Where are they? Alana- Kevin left a note that said they already went out to breakfast with your parents and they will be back around 12. Nick-ok, I guess we can walk. Frankie- Walk? All the way to the Waffle House? Alana- Its ok, ill give you a piggyback ride. Frankie- Ok lets go. Frankie takes Alana?s hand and they run out the door. [A.N. I know in the last chapter Katie didn?t seem shy but I?m changing her personality to shy because in real life she is] Nick- How about you Katie? Do you want a piggyback ride? Katie- {doesn?t answer} Nick- I don?t bite. Katie- {Shakes her head no} Nick- You sure, because I can, no problem. Katie- Ok. Nick- {gets on his knees} Hop on. She gets on and Nick runs out the door to check up with Alana and Frankie. Nick- Oh shoot?I forgot?never mind?c?mon ill race you guys. Alana- Ok. Nick- On 3, 1?2? Alana- 3 She takes off running. Nick- Hey you big cheaters Frankie- we didn?t cheat we just counted really fast Nick- yeah I?m sure. Runs and catches up to them. Nick- {to Katie} you ok up there? Katie- [{Looking kind of pale} Shakes her head yes] Nick- Ok because were about to run really fast. They sprint the last block to the Waffle House and when they get there? Joe- Linda-Lee, wait. He runs after her and Nick sees what him and follows them to see what happened. [A.N. Imagine a dark little hall way where you can only see if you turn a corner] Joe- Linda-Lee its ok to be upset come here Gives her a hug Linda-Lee- It happened so long ago, I guess I?m still so upset because I never really talked about it, I?ve always been the brave one and when I think about that it makes me scared. Joe- It?s ok to be scared sometimes. Nick turns the corner. Joe- Ill help you through this. Joe kisses her cheek. Nick gets the wrong impression and storms back to Alana, Katie, and Frankie.
