"When I work with a client, I keep the following 5 principles in the back of my mind: 1. Energy flows where attention goes 2. Any meaning we assign to an experience is completely dependent upon its context 3. What we are unconscious of has a greater influence upon our lives and what we can actually perceive in our conscious awareness 4. Based upon the resources and the paradigm from which a person is operating they are making the best choices available to them 5. A person cannot not-respond to their environment Michael J. "One of the things that I've picked up is the utter importance of flexibility with one's perspective on life. Often people look for life coaches or personal development coaches who are certified hypnotherapists and/or practitioners of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) because to-date these communication models offer the greatest opportunities for a person to experience the sort of change they want. Utilizing associated and disassociated states of being can greatly enhance your experiences in life. Michael J. Emery is a Personal Development Coach in Portland, OR. Are You Manipulated by Fear, Shame, and Guilt?

Are You Manipulated by Fear, Shame, and Guilt?

from recent posts tagged beaverton - blip.tv (beta) on September 23, 2008

Many people are manipulated by fear, shame, and guilt. When I studied marketing and advertising in undergrad, I realized that people would make buying decisions that were largely based upon scarcity. This is the premise behind having a sale - and the scarcity (fear of loss) anchor can be leveraged by pointing out how much a customer will "save" by buying now. In reality, they're not saving anything - they are spending less. There are many more examples I could share with you and they all tap into fear, shame, and guilt. Be free! Understand how your buying strategy works or how you make decisions so that you are the one in control of your life! Michael J. Emery is a Personal Development Coach in Portland, OR. He is available for international telephone and video coaching. Visit www.michaeljemery.com to learn more! Michael J. Ericksonian Hypnosis and Personal Development

Ericksonian Hypnosis and Personal Development

"Personally, it was the first step in a life-calling. I don't know if you've ever had this experience before, but it's like finding the right shoe that fits you perfectly. The possibilities and potential that exist within it encompass everything that you desire in life. This is what I found in the role of a personal development coach. Within the hypnosis models that exist Ericksonian Hypnosis is the most subtle and the most effective a model that I've found for personal development. In fact, its power is in its ambiguity and for this very reason as a hypnotherapist I often don't even need to know the specific details of the client?s problem. It?s more important for me to have a general idea as to what they want to achieve and create an environment within which a client can resolve the challenge at hand. The client will give me feedback through their physiology and language which often comes out in the form of metaphor and imagery to describe their experience as we reframe their old problem.
