Roberto Jovel, Policy and Research Coordinator, Ontario Council of Agencies Serving ImmigrantsRoberto Jovel is Policy and Research Coordinator at the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI). His academic background is in sociology and philosophy, and he is currently a PhD candidate in semiotics at Universit du Qu bec Montr al. He has carried research-action at the interface of sexual ethics and human rights in several countries in Central America, through collaboration with sexual and gender diversity community-based organizations. He has also developed transnational networking initiatives for advocacy around gender/sexuality rights. He was active within Coalition MultiMundo, a network of community-based LGBTIQ2 organizations, groups and activists from racialized communities in Montreal. Before coming to Toronto to work with OCASI, he was Settlement Policy Director at the Canadian Council for Refugees, where he coordinated the development of the CCR's Policy on Anti-Homophobia, Anti-Heterosexism and Anti-Transphobia.

Zack Marshall, Supervisor of Community/Family Support Services, Griffin CentreZack Marshall, MSW RSW is Supervisor of Community/Family Support Services and ReachOUT at Griffin Centre. ReachOUT is a creative, inclusive and accessible program for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, intersex, queer and questioning youth in north Toronto. ReachOUT includes specific projects for LGBT youth of colour, youth labelled with intellectual disablities, and settlement services for LGBT newcomer youth. Zack's work is focused on collaborative community engagement, social inclusion, and leadership development initiatives which actively incorporate anti-oppressive and anti-racist frameworks.

Aadil Mangalji, immigration lawyer, Lim MangaljiAadil Mangalji graduated with a Juris Doctor law degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Dean's list distinction from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Aadil has worked in the area of migration law for many years, he has held positions at a legal aid clinic and currently co-heads Lim Mangalji Aadil is an active advocate of immigration and refugee rights in Canada and is member of the Law Society of Upper Canada; Canadian Bar Association; and the Refugee Lawyers Association.

Armando Rivera, volunteer with the Among Friends initiativeArmando Rivera is an active Among Friends Volunteer. His presentation is a collection of narratives which members of the Among Friends Volunteer Program and Peer Refugee Support Group have worked on. Some of the key messages highlighted in this presentation are: Things service providers must know, and services that have been accessed while navigating the immigration and refugee systems.
