USA WON GOLD 4X100 Relay Jason Lezak incredible Olympic 2008
from Most Viewed August 12, 2008
http://olympicgames2.blogspot.com/ USA WON GOLD 4X100 Relay Jason Lezak incredible Beijing Olympic 2008 There was no way for Jason Lezak to know how far behind he was, and no reason to try to figure it out. With 350 meters gone and 50 to go in the 4 x 100 freestyle relay, Lezak made his turn, and kept it simple. I'm not going to lie, Lezak said. When I flipped at the wall I thought, 'There's no way.' Then in the next instant, I was like 'No, this is the Olympics. I'm not giving up.' I got a super charge and just took it from there. It was Monday morning in the so-called Water Cube, and things had not gone particularly well for the U.S. Katie Hoff, the 19-year-old from the same North Baltimore pool that Michael Phelps came of age in, had lost a big lead in the 400-meter freestyle, and wound up with silver. Brendan Hansen, world record-holder in the 100 breast, lost both his record and a medal, coming in fourth. There was a time that the 4 x 100 freestyle relay was as much of a lock for the U.S. as a basketball gold. The first seven times it was contested, the Americans won it. So imagine how much of a jolt it was when the U.S. was stunned by Australia in Sydney in 2000, and fell to the bronze in Athens. I think I wanted it more than anybody, not just for myself, but to show that we are the nation to be beat in that relay, he said. The only trouble was that France was not cooperating. The indefatigable Phelps swam an American-record 47.51 in the first leg, even as Australia's Eamon Sullivan was swimming a world record (47.24). Garrett Weber-Gale, in the second leg, got the lead back with a superb swim before Cullen Jones, who learned to swim at a YMCA pool in Newark, dove in. Frenchies talked a lot of crap and couldn't back it up. Yes, France still sucks. If you feel like you wanna punch me in the face or give me a hug add me on myspace and we can discuss it. http://www.myspace.com/tagale Note: There is no anti-french message in my video. I'm not spreading hate nor am I encouraging any of the comments being posted about it. It's only an attempt at racial humor. If someone posted this video about the United States would you be up in arms or would you take it with a grain of salt? If you're going to make it through this lifetime, you're going to have to learn to laugh at the expense of yourself and others.

To everyone's surprise, even the announcers at NBC (who were being VERY rude and not supporting U.S.A. at all), the United States team won. By just .08 of a second, the United States team overcame the French, the heavy favorites to win, and brought home another gold medal for the United States. But...who were you rooting for? You decide! Swimming World senior writer John Lohn is back to talk about the race for the Olympic medals in the men's 100 free. May 1st, 2008 - Kansas City Tornado Warnings, Part Eight
from YouTube :: Tag // storm May 16, 2008
The eighth part of the severe weather coverage. The tornadic threat has already moved out of Cass county, but Jackson county isn't out of the woods, yet. Lee's Summit, MO is still in the path of the storm, with the center of circulation moving closer. Though a tornado can't be confirmed in this storm, near Lee's Summit, you can be sure plenty of nerves were still rattled. Southern Kansas is still being hit hard by tornado warnings, with several tornadoes possibly touching down, with unknown EF ratings. This clip, with more to come in the future, highlight what happened in the early to late evening across the area. Featuring intensive and accurate coverage from NBC 41 Action News, chief meteorologist Gary Lezak, meterologist Brett Anthony in SkyTracker, and meterologists Jeremy Nelson and Jeff Penner behind the scenes.
