CopCAST - Episode 151 - Police Auto-Erotica

CopCAST - Episode 151 - Police Auto-Erotica

from Copcast on December 06, 2009
Duration: 2396
Well, we made it through our sesquicentennial show then everything fell apart. Between a major issue with my online training system and the flu, I got my butt kicked last week. Of course the maximum effective range of an excuse is zero meters so I am not going to dwell on the past. Although I am still not feeling that great, we are going to do the best we can to turn out a great show. We finally got some email. Make sure that you send your emails to talkback@copcast.net - - - not .COM! That might explain why we have been a little lean over the past few weeks - NOT! Again this week, I was able to get together with our very own Two Girls From Utah to get their perspective on last week's show. This week the girls get a fan letter or sorts. Shell talks about police auto-erotica - actually she found a rather erotic description of your next police vehicle - and Suz discusses the relative merits of a career as a door-to-door pharmaceutical salesman. In the briefing room this week we kick things off with a tale of a good guy gone bad in Canada. Learn how to safely go online with the new computer Santa is going to bring you. A "devastating tragedy" in Detroit. Don't forget to put that camera on the Taser before you use it. A fatal end to a police career. Check out the crash video on my blog, The Sisyphus Comments. We have another installment of the Tales From George's Pocketbook, our audio segment from our brother officers Great Britain. No matter how many years we've done in the job and how experienced we become, there was a time when we had to be taught. The instructors who led us through our early days made a great impact on us and their lessons stayed with us throughout our careers, but how often do we we actually pay them the tribute that they are due? Don't forget to take advantage of this opportunity for you to earn a few brownie points with the Chief. Tell him about the IACP/SACOP Police Chiefs Scholarship Program. This week I'm going to review the fourth case that Chief Wallentine wrote about in his PoliceOne.com article, Herring v. United States. So download the show, fire up the iPod, grab a one of those fancy pumpkin drinks at Starbucks and enjoy. Remember to stay safe, always wear your vest and have a great week!

CopCAST - Episode 150 - The Sesquicentennial

from Copcast on November 24, 2009
Duration: 2713
This week's show is so big that it took an extra day to produce. Did you buy that? Well it isn't entirely true but it sounds good since this is the sesquicentennial episode of CopCAST. We got skunked again this week - no listener email - come on folks, you can do better than this. Let's try this, if you are from China, send me an email and tell me where you are located and how you started listening to CopCAST. The one thing that we can count on is, like a bad penny, the Two Girls From Utah always show up. And again this week, I was able to get together with them to get their perspective on last week's show. This week they share their vast redneck wisdom concerning the McDonalds rappers and George. A quarter of a million Droids in the wild at Verizon. Can't we fix that tendency to molest? Email could be extinct within a decade so you better check out Google Wave for some insight into the future of communication http://wave.google.com/help/wave/about.html. Ford launches its new Ford Police Interceptor in 2011. Tickets are on sale for the hottest seat in Virginia. Pride is a sin in Tennessee. A Texas woman made boobs out of her community - or at least their money. Smashed potatoes and jail. What do they do for fun in Canada? It takes a real dope to sell drugs to an off-duty cop. Cell phone track leads to a swan dive on to the concrete. This week we have another installment of the Tales From George's Pocketbook, our audio segment from our brother officers Great Britain. It doesn't always go right, actually it often doesn't go right, but there can't be much worse than watching your prisoner disappear into the distance. The Northeast Counterdrug Training Center will be conducting an Advanced Police Executive Development course at Fort Indian Town Gap, PA, November 30 - December 11, 2009. You can find out more information about the course at http://www.counterdrug.org. The contact phone is: 717.861.2070. This week we review what Chief Wallentine wrote about Ashcroft v. Iqbal. Remember if you have Skype, you can send an audio comment to the show. Just dial up CopCAST. CopCAST is 150 episodes old so be nice to us. Just download the show, grab a hot chocolate, kick back and enjoy. Remember to stay safe, always wear your vest and have a great week!

Far to often law enforcement officers are faced with life threatening situations. In many instances in your career, the "will to live" fight or flight response will invoke its will upon you. Unlike 007, ALL officers must be able to operate effectively while this physiological event is controlling your body. Understand the techniques to survive, but hearing the testimony of real survivors.
