SINOPSIS: Una expedición lunar en la fosa Cracovia descubre un monolito de cuatro millones de años de antigüedad, que expuesto al sol lanza una potentísima señal de radio hacia el espacio profundo hasta las inmediaciones de Júpiter. En un intento por conocer el origen y significado de la transmisión el gobierno de los Estados Unidos lanza el USS Discovery para llegar hasta Júpiter y descifrarla. COMENTARIO: Película de ciencia ficción dirigida en 1968 por Stanley Kubrick, que adapta una novela de Arthur C. Clarke del mismo título y publicada el mismo año. Fue la madurez de la ciencia ficción, abriendo nuevos horizontes de futuro para el género. TRIVIALIDADES: Kubrick pidió ayuda a IBM para que participaran en la película. Al negarse, Kubrick restó una letra a sus iniciales, obteniendo HAL; los monos del inicio son en verdad un grupo de teatro de Londres, debidamente disfrazados como tales; y en todas las escenas del espacio siempre hay algo en movimiento, casi siempre en segundo plano. COMMENT: Sci-fi movie directed in 1968 by Stanley Kubrick, adapting an Arthur C. Clarke's novel of the same name, published in the same year. It was sci-fi maturity, opening new horizons of future for the genre. TRIVIA: Kubrick had asked IBM that it participated in the movie, but they rejected the idea. This is my first video. I was making a house track with a message and it developed a life of its own. I hated having to cut it in half, but I had to discard about 40 minutes of great material that you can check out at redicecreations.com, just to get it down to 13 min. I feel it is a true testament to the art of synchromysticism because several peculiar mishaps occured that seemed tragic at the time but worked out perfectly with other 'accidents' to get what you see. Many of they sequences were unplanned and just worked out. Please enjoy and check out soundlessdawn's and jake kotze's work on the subject. Thanks to them for connecting so many dots.

"Hate Shaped Box", the first official video of Kubrick ,the best italian alternative synth-rock band. The single has been composed few months before the filming. Back those days (3rd quarter of 2007) the bad took part into a contest, the prize was indeed a video shooting. More than a dozen of people worked on the set and the filming lasted 3 days. The setting takes place into an abandoned asylum in Imola, and features Penelope Landini as the "haunted girl".Producer: La Palazzina. Directors: Emanuele Banazutti, Mariacristina Paglia. Photography: Giorgio Giannoccaro. Scenography: Alberto Venturini. Post Production: Emanuele Zuffa.
