This is where you have a pedal that you record a chord progression (or percussion) and it plays it over and over (it loops it). More and more sophisticated technology has come out where you can have multiple parts that play on top of each other (with the ability to stop just one certain loop). The best part is if you live in an area where there are no other musicians, you can go out and play LIVE with a few pieces of technology. K.T. Tunstall has a JamMan check her out in this video doing her hit Black Horse and a Cherry Tree. You can see Musicians Cooler Friend Norman Lamont s set up. He is using a Roland GK20 guitar synthesizer that ends up going into a Boss Loop Station. He picked this gear becuase of the price, and the pickup that attaches for the guitar synth goes on with glue (nothing permanent). He recommends a website called Looper Delight where you can read reviews of looping tools and hear some great performers. Ray Confer Acidic Loops Ray Confer is playing second life, and being asked to open for other bands using just a few peddles. His first is the digitech GNX4 This has the digitech jamman with it, and it has lots of emulators (which comes in handy when you want to throw down a bass. You also have some drum loops on this unit. Ray is a big fan of www.reverbnation.com where he uses it for the fan list (email list), and it has some great features. He also uses www.blastmymusic.com which allows him to put a wdiget on different websites to sell your music. Ray first got into looping using the boss RC-20, but has recently upgraded to RC-50.
