The Greenhouse Effect Archives;Greenhouse Effect have rocked their way into the top 100 All Time "Grunge", "Emo", and "Aternative" rock Categories at Myspace.com as of March 6, 2009 and the very interesting reading that is 'The G.e. archives" is the key. The band has apparently now settled on a possible 'in place' three piece 'line up' for a come-back show with Clark hagins on Guitar and lead vocals, Martin Silva (G.e's drummer in parts of 1991 and 92') on Drums, and new bassist Hagan Kelley replaces Rick Carmody. "People wanna see a show - they see us having fun and acting crazy on the internet from the old school but,..they wanna see us again now,...sure,..I would like to jam with Ted,...but I am prepared to move forward and jam with my nephew,.....the version of the band with Flipper will happen eventually ,..but due to distance and with him being way up in San Jose,...I have to 'move on' and just 'do this" says Clark Hagins. Hagan Kelly previously jammed with Hagins in 1997 and maybe parts of early 1998 as the band were preparing a 'comeback' rehearsing at Tubbys in Torrance - the home of Joe Groovey Dude. "Groovey Dude came into the room one day and he angrily asked us to leave and told us to turn down ,..that was bullshit and i lost all respect for him right then and there" says Haggins "We had some great jams there at Tubbys,..my nephew was going through a weird phase and we were kicking out all the songs from 'Going Legit' (G.e's 1991 album and one of their best),...we were kicking out some tight jams of BEN IS DEAD, STAR, BRANDY, WAITING FOR YOUR LOVE TO FAIL, Hey Negrita, Winers Diners, and maybe a version of 'WHITE BLACK' ,..we were gettin' it together but then,...it all ended,..my nephew hooked up with this Carlsbad chick that later on became his wife,...and then i went onto form the South Bay band 'Svengali' in 1998 with the late Mike Rimmey and my brother Paul,...there never was that late 1990's G.e. comeback but we had something good planned,..i remember that my nephew would show up to rehearsals playing his drums in only his underware !! He was getting good ,..but he was going through this weird 'Seattle' thing (Laughs)...In 2009, Greenhouse Effect use the crazy antics of their wild 'videos', great songs, and timeless weirdness, to captivate a world audience as they have driven themselves into the top of Myspace.com's All time music charts,..."We like myspace ,..it looks pro and it gives G.e. a great forum,...yeah we love our myspace profile ,..and we have a crowd out there that seems to take delight in joining in with us,...being in the tops of the Myspace charts means yer gonna get alot of new 'myspace friends' ,..it means alot to us,...Myspace has really helped Greenhouse Effect alot,...they have taken us to the top,...they are forcing radio stations to play 'Brandy',..if yer a college radio,..you have no choice but to play the biggest and best alternative rock and EMO songs and that means that they 'have to' play Greenhouse Effect - because we're big on the web,...and radio stations get listened to - if they play 'Brandy',..its like frickin' rancom !! LOS ANGELES Hard rock icons Greenhouse Effect are probobly the most seen and downloaded band in 2008 and 2009 on the internet. This unusual looking and sounding band got their start nearly 25 years ago as founded by grunge guitarist Phillip Keegan and drummer Rich Hebben in Torrance/ Redondo Beach California. Today, as "G.e." are widely seen and touted as the real 'original grunge band' and their fan following grows, new debate and doubt looms as to the real true origins of grunge. "People (that Won't back down)" is a great little song by Greenhouse Effect but in reality, this is no 'little' song indeed. "Its one of our best ones..." says Clark Higgins "It might be among my favorites...its a very unusual song For G.e.,..its kinda mellow but its tastey...it's got a vibe like the Who from 'Who's Next' with some active drumming but ofcourse when one hears it, they immediately think of Heart or Dire Straights meets David Bowie,...its got an 'accoustic song' vibe to it,..yet there is no accoustic guitar on it,..it's actually kinda heavy and rocking for a song with no distortion,..its sorta like Rush in a way...it's 'classic rock' all the way - i don't wanna say it sounds like 70's Genesis(Laughs)..., it certainly isn't typical 'alternative rock' and I like the way it sounds nothing like "White Black Thang' or any of those !For Higgins, being big and known on the internet is not enough; "Well...I still don't feel completely validated,..I mean everybody knows who I am now and plenty of people have heard my music and think I'm great blah blah,..but it sure would be nice to be on the real radio in my car...that would be great...and to actually make real money at this..!!,..but I know and understand that the people up in Hollywood and the people who run our radio stations in America are the same or very similar kind of liberal people,..they are not open-minded,..oh sure, they talk about how everyone should stop the hate and lets all love each other and all that but the reality is,..is that they single out certain 'stars' who they wanna see make it and be big AND THEY WANNA promote...,..certain people that they wanna constantly cram down all of our throats day in and day out,...they choose a handful percentage of artists and then for the most part, ..they only play those,...they want us all to love what 'THEY' like...for example, KROQ in Los Angeles loves Green Day, Nirvana, and Red Hot chili Peppers and Foo Fighters and so ofcourse,....they play these artists endlessly morning noon and night,..very few 'new' real ideas ever get through the door,...oh sure,..they may play crap like Panic at the disco and My Chemical Romance but the real reality is a lot of these new artists just really 'aren't' the next Beatles or even Nirvana for that matter..,..and you can just tell this...hey look, if you hear Fall out boy and Linkin Park, you can tell that these bands are people who somehow got a record deal by some amazing lucky break or a friend of a friend knew someone at a label or something like that ,...their music is not remarkable,..its very blande and ordinary on average in general - even supposing they 'do' got a hit song here n there,...but the music of my band Greenhouse Effect is not like that,..we do not sound boring or generic at all,..there is not one ounce of suck near my band (- there 'is' however one HELL of alot of suck hovering ALL AROUND these bands today on Mtv and PEOPLE FUCKING KNOW IT NOW ..and consciously too!!) ,..or bands like mine - the few in this world that are left! Bands that takes chances and purposely try to write good unique material and not try to 'fit in"....For Higgins, ..its very frustrating being in his opinion one of the last of the Moheekans or being this very good thing ...nevermind being as known as he is on the net,..yet still not being able to 'cross over' to being played on the radios that he once loved,..to be played and heard while 'walking into a 7-11 the way Foo Fighters are'...
