in the moment- petrified to do this, k-dog and i put our wits about us aside for a momentary lapse of reason, him trusting me with the rip cord and a free fall 153 feet into flight. the depression that has been keeping me slave for the last several weeks and the grief from my father's/best friend's death came to a calm as the ground came closer to my face. suddenly the question came to mind, do i want to feel this alive doing everything in my life or continue to wither away with the empty? i discovered that i do prefer to have my feet in the air, not firmly planted on the ground. and i vowed to not forget that this life goes quicker than a heartbeat. fear. no. more.
