from YouTube :: Videos by alliancetosaveenergy May 22, 2008
To motivate, inform and empower Americans consumers take simple yet important steps to save money at the pump by being more fuel efficient, the Alliance to Save Energy, in partnership with The Wal-Mart Foundation and a number of other organizations, created the Drive $marter Challenge on May 20th, 2008. The overall goal of the challenge is to reduce the amount of gasoline used by American drivers by helping them keep their cars in good working order, and to identify ways to drive more efficiently. The campaign includes a Web site, http://drivesmarterchallenge.org, with tips and resources for consumers and an interactive challenge. Campaign tips and resources encourage drivers to use overdrive gears and cruise control when available and appropriate; avoid idling; combine errands to drive the shortest distance; avoid excess weight in the trunk; and carpool, bike, walk, or use public transportation whenever possible. Visit http://drivesmarterchallenge.org to learn more about how you can save money at the pump and lessen your carbon footprint on the environment.
