This title is beginning to go into the realm of just being too out there for me. Mostly because I don t see where it is going and there is no real suspense to keep me interested until we find out. My biggest problem though is this book s complete disregard for the rest of the marvel u. There is absolutely no mention of the Skrulls, and remember that freedom plaza was blown into the N zone at the beginning of the invasion. The Hulk is running around with his hair slicked and bi focals kidnapping members of the fantastic four, while in his book the hulk is not in that much control and a little busy with the Red Hulk. Again I just don t get this title and the only thing that is keeping me reading it is to find out what the hell they re doing and why, so I guess it has the same draw as a train wreck. For once DC is doing a good job of keeping hold of the reigns on its major event and the spin offs. They are spaced out adequately enough that it is not a major inconvenience to our weekly comic budget and they are all very relevant to the main title. This is the title that follows the mystic side of the event and focuses on the Specter and the Question. I m not usually into that side of things but this story raised some questions that I am definitely interested in finding the answer to. The first and foremost is why didn t the Specter s powers have any effect over Libra? Then, why is the Specter going after the Question? I m kind of disappointed that they took out Dr Light I mean he was a pretty bad ass villain now that he had his mental faculties back and I was looking forward to him bringing some more havoc the Titan s way. This is not my favorite of the spin offs, but it is a good story and looks like it will bring some major repercussions to the DCU. Distributed by Tubemogul.

This is part three of Kraven s first hunt and reads really well. The action was great and it had just the right amount of humor and humanity to bring the story to life in a way that only Peter Parker can. This story also upped my respect for Pete s roommate Vin because of how he handled himself in this fight. He really stepped us, MGH or no and took it to the huntress. He didn t run away from the fight initially until Spiderman, as Daredevil, stepped in and told him to get out. The art looks great. I have always been a huge fan of Phil Jimenez and I love what he does on the pages. He has a great balance of reality and fantasy in his drawings that shows the far out action but makes it believable. There were a few things that I didn t like though. The first was Vermin showing up and saving the day. It was a bit of a cop out didn t give the resolution that the great fight we were witnessing deserved. The other was how Spidey explained things to Vin. It made him look like a real jerk wasn t necessary. I understand that he needed to keep Vin from asking questions but I don t think that was the best way to handle it. This was a great arch though and I love the new villain. It s no big surprise that it s Kraven s daughter and I like her because as her mom said, she is her father s daughter and the outcome of this story was very similar to how an old Kraven story would have gone. Now this story is picking back up again. Mr. Fantastic gets going and shows us why he s such a bad ass. It s not often that we see him lash out physically and we forget how powerfully he is in that respect because he more often than not fights with his mind. Nick Fury s troops still didn t do much bet they are gearing up fro the big counter attack and the suspense is killing me. Maria Hill has finally struck back and taken a few Skrulls down before going off to join the resistance, but the real excitement is in the savage land when Reed Richards lands with his new toy that reveals the Skrulls for what they are. With that in earth s arsenal there s no holding back. The mistrust and doubt will be gone and the heroes will be free in knowing exactly who the enemy is. We get to see a bit of just how bad this attack is and the pain it causes as three of the heroes on the Savage Land are forced to face off against Skrull versions of their wives. This attack and the mistrust strike everywhere and can cut very deep. Three more issues to go and I can t wait. Distributed by Tubemogul.

This is one of the spin off mini s, and while I m usually not into the extras I got this one because we rarely get to see the Inhumans in a featured role and they are an interesting people. The method of story telling in this book is fantastic. By focusing on Karnak, whose ability it is to sense weakness, it also showcases the strength of the Inhumans. Their greatest strength is their family and the faltering of that bond is their greatest weakness. This of course plays right into the Skrull s attack which is to create mistrust and doubt so their attack strikes deep when they find that the greatest of all, Blackbolt was a Skrull. At the end of this issue all hell brakes loose as the Skrulls reveal themselves in a full on frontal assault so you know there is some great action to come. The fate of Blackbolt is a great twist and I m excited to see how he s going to get out of it. Is this book a must read? Not really. If you can t get enough of the Skrulls or have been dying for more Inhumans than you ll really like this one. Distributed by Tubemogul.

This is the first of 12 narrated slide shows that tells about my Sept. 2004 vacation trip to Egypt. Please note, this is an amateur and non-scholarly presentation of my personal impressions of Egypt both ancient and modern. During this presentation I will talk about and present pictures of the many places I visited including: the Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, Islamic, Coptic and modern Cairo, a rug factory near Memphis, scenes along the Nile from my cruise boat, the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, the temple of Hathor at Dendara, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the extensive Temple of Ammun complexes of Karnak and Luxor at the site of ancient Thebes, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Colossi of Memnon, the Aswan dams, the Isis Temple of Philae, the Temples of Ra and Hathor at Abu Simbel, and the sights in and around Alexandria, its waterfront and new library. Karnak (al-Karnak,الكرنك, ciudad fortificada , llamada en el antiguo Egipto Ipet Sut, el lugar más venerado ) es una pequeña población de Egipto, situada cerca de la ribera oriental del río Nilo. Era una zona de la antigua Tebas que albergaba el complejo religioso más importante del antiguo Egipto. Situación: 25° 43′ 00″ N 32° 39′ 30″ E Complejo de templos de Karnak Durante siglos, este lugar fue el más influyente centro religioso egipcio. El templo principal estaba dedicado al culto del dios Amón, pero como en otros templos egipcios también se veneraba a otras divinidades. El complejo de templos de Karnak lo componen: El gran templo de Amón El recinto de Montu El recinto de Mut El templo de Jonsu El templo de Opet El templo de Ptah Existían también numerosos templetes y capillas de menor tamaño y múltiples estancias y almacenes situados dentro de los muros que circundaban las zonas principales. La diferencia principal entre el templo de Amón en Karnak, que Diodoro de Sicilia afirma ser el más antiguo de Tebas, y la mayoría de los templos egipcios es el tiempo y esfuerzos empleados en su construcción y posteriores ampliaciones. Unos treinta faraones contribuyeron con sus edificaciones convirtiendo al complejo en algo que por su tamaño (unas treinta hectáreas) no se había conocido antes. La entrada, entre dos inmensos pilonos, está precedido por una avenida de esfinges (dromos), con cabeza de carnero, símbolos del dios Amón. Se accede a un gran patio porticado donde se encuentra, la izquierda, un templete del faraón Sethy II, la columna de Taharca y la estatua de Pinedyem I, a la derecha el templo de Ramsés III, al frente la sala hipóstila, y un poco más al fondo los obeliscos de Thutmose I y Hatshepsut, después una serie de estancias y patios menores, y el santuario, a los que sólo tenían acceso el faraón y los sacerdotes. La sala hipóstila está compuesta de numerosas columnas que aún conservan sus inscripciones y algunas tienen aún restos de la pintura original. Sus capiteles tienen forma de papiro (papiriformes). El santuario se encuentra en el centro del templo. En el antiguo Egipto, la construcción de los templos se iniciaba siempre por el santuario, lo que significa que Karnak se comenzó por el centro y se terminó de construir por las entradas al recinto. Todo el conjunto estaba ricamente decorado y pintado en vivos colores. El complejo de Karnak es el conjunto de culto religioso conocido más antiguo del mundo. Un enorme museo a cielo abierto que muestra importantes restos de la cultura del antiguo Egipto. Después de las pirámides de Giza, es el segundo lugar más visitado de Egipto.
