EW Counts Down 100 Best Films of Past 25 Years
from Cinematical June 17, 2008
Filed under: Classics, Comedy, Fandom, Lists This week Entertainment Weekly is "Counting Down the New Movie Classics," listing the best films made in the past 25 years. The magazine claims that all 100 are good enough to be considered alongside the usual classics (you know, like Citizen Kane, Casablanca, etc.), but I guess that's relative. I wouldn't consider #99, The Blair Witch Project, to be equated with Poltergeist III, let alone Psycho. But isn't that the fun of these lists? They fuel our excitement about cinema while also angering us that our favorites aren't higher up, or more commonly, that the films we hate most are included on any list, ever. On the first day of the countdown, EW shows us the bottom 25, which includes such masterpieces as Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Breaking the Waves, In the Mood for Love and Full Metal Jacket. When I saw that the last of these was only at #94, I got really excited, wondering what 93 films could possibly be better. And then I was shocked to see that so-so comedies like Swingers and Waiting for Guffman and the fine but poorly aged Moonstruck placed higher. I almost didn't even see those titles, though, because I almost threw my computer when I saw that Napoleon Dynamite was just ahead of Back to the Future. Just another reason to hate Napoleon Dynamite, I guess. Even the Back to the Future sequels are better than ND, but I'm going to now assume they don't even make it on this list. #s 75-51 will be revealed tomorrow. I wonder what kind of delights and blasphemies will meet us then. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

WILL THERE BE A MILLENNIUM AFTER THE SECOND COMING?
from YouTube :: Tag // second life June 11, 2008
This video points out the false teaching of premillennialists. Premillennialists teach that after the judgment at the Second Coming, people will go into a millennial kingdom in natural bodies, that is, in physical bodies, with the capability of having children. Premillennialists claim that these people will carry out the routines of life that we are engaged in at the present time. They also teach that the gospel will be preached, since the children will be born with a sinful nature. In the gospel of Matthew, we learn that when Jesus judges all nations, the world, some people will go into eternal life and some people will go into eternal punishment (Matt. 13: 36-43; Matt. 25: 31-46). The apostle Peter informs us that on the day of judgment, this present heaven and earth will be burned up and God will create a new heaven and a new earth. The preceding Scriptures show beyond a reasonable doubt that there will be no people in natural (physical) bodies after the judgment, at the Second Coming. Unless premillennialists find an answer to this question, they should stop teaching their false doctrine of a millennium, after the day of judgment at the Second Coming. The question is: Where will people in natural (physical) bodies come from after the judgment at the Second Coming, if some people will go into eternal life and some people will go into eternal punishment (Matt. 13: 36-43; Matt. 25: 31-46 and 2 Pet. 3: 3-13)? So what about the thousand years in Revelation 20: 1-7? The thousand years are not literal and future but symbolic and being fulfilled now. This conclusion is supported by the teaching of the apostle John. He teaches that the eternal reign of Christ will commence at the end of the tribulation, which is the end of the age (Rev. 11: 15-19). We observe that Jesus is reigning now and will continue to reign until he has defeated all of his enemies. The last enemy to be defeated is death (1 Corinthians 15: 20-26). Departed believers are reigning with him (Rev. 6: 9-11) and so, too, are living believers in a spiritul sense (Col. 3: 1-4). The thousand years for Jesus commenced at the time of his ascension and they will end at the time of his Second Coming. The thousnd years for Satan began at the start of Jesus' ministry and they will end when he (Satan) is set free for a short time (Rev. 12: 12; Rev. 20: 3). Please read the preceding Scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. DO NOT BE LEAD ASTRAY BY FALSE TEACHERS. Blessings. Podcast #54 - GLOBAL CRISIS (MUSIC PROJECT) *update*
from No Religionistas June 02, 2008
This podcast deals with a PROJECT that I am sometimes sinking in, sometimes elated in--definitely in the middle of. It deals with the ADVENT OF THE UFO AND ALIEN MENTAL CONTROL and PRESENCE...i.e. spiritual warfare--a spiritual reality to compete with the reality of Creator. A collision of extremes--beautiful interludes and chord progressions met with kick the stall down double bass drums driving the world to a conclusion. We deal with the 3rd and 2nd movements today. The First Movement, on SoundClick will lose voice overs and other things will be added. There is NO NEED for the human voice in this multilayered recording. Note, it will be available on CD, but not from CD Baby as we are no longer affiliated, nor do we ever want to do business with them again, purely for the reason that they upload puny 128k files to iTunes when we upload 320k mp3 files and mp4 files. So we will find a way for you to get the CD...as for the album download, we are considering using SNOCAP. I hope you enjoy this update. Z

He grew up in the Middle East, returning to the UK to work investing money for the Lord Chancellor's Department and to study. While at Sheffield University doing research in Law and Economics, he taught Moral Philosophy and lectured for the International Seminar on Jurisprudence and Human Rights in Strasbourg. Stuart McAllister Born in Scotland, Stuart McAllister spent his earlier years in sales before Christ changed his life at the age of twenty. From then on, filled with a hunger to learn more about and preach the Gospel, he took every opportunity to witness and give his testimony. The desire to serve the Lord and at the same time deepen his understanding of the faith led him to Operation Mobilisation in 1978. OM sent him to Yugoslavia where he was imprisoned for forty days for distributing Christian literature. Undeterred, he continued on his mission to preach the Gospel in communist countries, which resulted in several more imprisonments. He was general secretary of the European Evangelical Alliance and is involved with the European Lausanne Committee. Stuart has developed an evangelistic mobilization called "Love Europe" that sent several thousand team members across Europe with the message of the Gospel. He also founded the European Roundtable to bring together a diverse group of ministries and interests; they united to foster "Hope for Europe." After residing in Vienna, Austria for twenty years, Stuart joined the staff of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries as the International Director in January of 1998. Pluralism, postmodernism and consumerism are regular topics addressed by Stuart in the leadership seminars. Alison Thomas Alison Thomas is an apologist with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries based in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and obtained her undergraduate degree in Literature from the University of Florida. She received her Master's degree in Classical Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was mentored by Dr. Norman Geisler. By invitation, Alison travels within the U.S. and around the world to defend the beauty and credibility of the gospel. Her conversational style creatively couples theology and philosophy to equip the believer and engage the skeptic. She speaks mainly to students and young professionals at churches, schools, retreats, and conferences. Alison has spoken at a wide variety of apologetics events hosted by venues as diverse as Focus on the Family in Colorado, Calvary Chapel of Ft. Lauderdale, RZIM in Indonesia, and the Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union in the U.K. Along with speaking and writing articles, Alison is also currently working on an apologetics book for youth. Romans Week 5 - The Verdict Is In
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) May 12, 2008
Pastor Steve Leddy examines the coming judgment and likens it to a trial in a courtroom. Since all have sinned, we should each be found guilty in a court of law. Fortunately, we have an Advocate on our side if we would just accept him This sermon covers Romans 3 verses 1 through 20.
