HALO John-117, and seventy-four young children, were kidnapped from their homes and put through intense physical and psychological training. Nearly a decade later, they were biologically and cybernetically enhanced, of which only thirty-three survived. John-117 loses his best friend in their first mission against the Covenant, then one by one, all the friends he had ever known, fall. He loses all sign of emotion, and carries out endless missions for the UNSC, killing thousands of Covenant alone.
