Many of them will never come back. ___ ___ These are a sampling of some headlines we found while researching this post. Scarcity is in the news. It smacks us in the face every time we turn around. Here s our take on it: opportunity is everywhere. There s never been a better time to find yours. Do you doubt it? Then it won t happen for you. When you don t believe you can change your position in the world, you can t. When you do believe it, you re one step closer to making it happen. Yes, we re blasted daily with stories about financial trouble. But we have to overcome stinkin thinkin because we re fortunate to live in a time when there is so much opportunity. Yes, you heard that correctly. Right now, there is so much opportunity! And here s the best news of all the opportunities of today and tomorrow don t require a lot of money to create a lot more money. They do require you to think abundantly. So we thought we d do our part by doing a series of posts five in all on finding abundance. Here s the first step: Start creating a fortune by feeling fortunate. We tend to focus on what we don t have. We beat ourselves up because we haven t accomplished everything we planned to. We experience regret, anger and depression because of our lot in life. We compare ourselves to others and get upset because they seem to be living better than we are. We think they re the fortunate ones. We re wrong. We are the fortunate ones. So we must be different. We must feel fortunate. Start every day by focusing on what you do have. Be thankful for the wonderful people in your life. Congratulate yourself for how far you ve already come. Feel excited about the opportunities, and yes, even the challenges, that you have before you. You ll find that after a couple weeks of this daily session you ll feel fortunate the beginning of living abundantly. When you feel fortunate, you ll find your fortune, however you define it. It takes big man to admit his mistakes and an even bigger country to do likewise. Many will argue that Barack Obama did the nation a disservice telling the world that America was arrogant dismissive and derisive of anybody that dared to disagree with us in the past. Some would say the president should never have acknowledged America’s culpability if not playing a leading role in the world’s financial downturn. But we think without President Obama’s willingness to accept all due responsibility for what our Wall Street did to spread a virus of red ink around the globe, he would have not been able to reestablish America as a leader of world affairs.

With the world’s major economies meeting at the G-20 this week charged with finding a solution to the impending global depression, President Barack Obama will be challenged to convince participants that the United States deserves to continue to lead the way. A skilled speaker with charm, charisma and a winning smile will help President Obama immensely, but when the world begins to examine the backdrop from which he has to work, they will be more than willing to press for international safeguards as they see fit and not necessarily what the United States brings to the table. President Obama did not just inherit a $trillion plus deficit, a war in Iraq, a war in Afghanistan and a third border war percolating with Mexico from the Bush W. administration. He also inherited a systemically corrupt and woefully inept congress that has long over stayed their welcome and long outlived their usefulness.

Many unemployed workers are taking positions for which they're overqualified.

At a time when coach Obama has drawn up a last shot opportunity to tie the game with a drive to the basket, finishing off a two point lay up with a chance to get a foul called, we can’t find Tiny Tim Geithner anywhere. We need a guy that can not only ward off low bridging, cheap and dirty shot Republican defenders, but a guy that can be relied upon to hit the game tying free-throw. We need Tiny Tim to inspire the exhausted and bleary eyed fans, because we know he is going to hit nothing but net like Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns and not come up short like Shaquille O’Neal. This ain’t hockey where there is a possible tie; this is B-Ball where there are only winners and losers. We have gone way passed the games now, if we lose this contest, we don’t just miss the playoffs and get to try again next year, if we lose this game, the franchise folds. Click here for the podcast.
