Mark Randall, Adobe

Adobe is readying a system that uses speech-to-text technology directly into the production process. Adobe's plans were revealed yesterday by Adobe VP Jim Guerard, who was a featured speaker at the Beet.TV Executive Roundtable held on the Stanford Campus. If the Adobe project is widely adopted, it will have a profound impact on how Flash video is searched and discovered. Right now there is very little text data in Flash files. Recently YouTube began including voice-to-text generated metadata into some of the clips in the presidential campaign. At NAB in May, I interviewed Adobe's top Flash strategist Mark Randall on the topic of voice-to-text and its implications. I've reposted that video here. Mark is speaking here at the AlwaysOn conference and I hope to catch up ...

CELL PHONE RADIATION STUDIES
from Share on Ovi most recent videos July 24, 2008
a href="www.emfnews.org/chipcategory.html" EMF Protection Products /a a href="www.emfnews.org/headset.html" Airtube Headsets /a In general, all of us MUST keep in mind that the human body is an electrical system. It will be, and is affected by, outside RF energy fields that can promote unwanted nerve stimulation, cancer, heating effects, and many other unwanted effects. A comparison table for telephone effective radiation head exposure has been developed to provide reference values. [4] This value varies considerably for dozens of different cell phone models tested. DNA breakdown is among the most disturbing findings of studies done, which can lead to illness and tumors. There are now new links to brain cancer being uncovered as you read this. There is new concern over those that wear cell phones on their belts, because of the close proximity of the antenna to kidneys. The liver which can rebuild itself to some degree after being damaged, but your kidneys cannot. One notices that RF exposure studies in the media from Europe are much more common and considerably more vocal than those done in America. Publishing negative study results in North America will have a negative effect on the billion dollar market, and subsequently affect stock in cell phone companies. Cell companies have managed to keep the lid nailed shut on the box, in so far as mainstream media are concerned, but this can only last for so long. I personally was not convinced of the damage potential of low level RF radiation for more than 20 years. That is, until reading a number of test results, all saying very much the same thing about observed detrimental effects on living organisms. a href="www.emfnews.org/qlinks.html" Cell Tower Protection /a a href="www.emfnews.org/cell-phone-radiation-book.html" Educational Cell Phone Ebook /a

20 Years Of Sonic Youth (2002), part IV
from YouTube :: Tag // newyork July 24, 2008
Dubbed by the press "the nation's best-known underground band," New York No-Wave ensemble Sonic Youth has spent two decades exploring music's frontiers in influential albums like "Daydream Nation" and "Goo". In this German-produced documentary, filmmaker Christoph Dreher listens to band members Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Kim Gordon and Steve Shelley as they discuss past controversies, their melding of music with the graphic arts, their much-publicized signing with Geffen Records and the notorious theft of their gear - including 16 specially modified guitars - while on tour in 1998. Featuring clips from countless music videos, concert footage and interviews with musician Blixa Bargeld, composer Glen Branca and producer Jim O'Rourke. Sonic Youth, initially comprising of guitarist / vocalists Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, guitarist / bassist / vocalist Kim Gordon and drummer Richard Edson, were formed in New York City in 1981. A product of the No-Wave music scene of the late 1970s, the group had their roots in abrasive, experimental music, with Moore and Ranaldo having previously worked with the experimental composer Glenn Branca. The band were joined in 1985 by drummer Steve Shelley, and have now recorded 14 albums together, as well as many side and solo projects. Their work has been consistently challenging and innovative, and they are widely regarded as one of the most intriguing and influential bands of their time. Original title: "Rockets/Kool Things: 20 Years of Sonic Youth", directed by Christoph Dreher, 2002, 55 min. trumpet guru finally available on CD!
from ANABlog July 22, 2008
James Darling is one of those performers who is instantly known and regarded among "people in the know." Ask a young conductor who they admire and Carlos Kleiber's name will come up. Ask a pianist what they think of Leon Fleischer's playing and you have an instant conversation starter. Ask a trumpet player if they've heard of James Darling and they'll have a smile on their face. With only one solo recording that was just recently made available on CD, James Darling could only be heard by the most diligent connoisseurs of 20th Century brass music. It's pretty safe to say that every trumpet player in every major American Symphony has respect for James Darling. His solid musicianship and instruction is legendary. There are plenty of recordings that show Mr. Darling's power and skill within the orchestra. Check out Telarc's Beethoven 6 and Leonore 3 to hear his offstage trumpet call, for example or London's rare Ring Cycle recording with Cleveland and Dohnanyi for some powerful trumpet section contributions. There is only one recording exhibiting his artistry and sensitivity in a solo setting however. This recording of 20th Century music for trumpet was first released under the Advent Records label in 1973 and re-released under Telarc in 1978. For too long I've had to confine my listening of Mr. Darling's solo playing to a recording on a cassette tape I pirated off of a library copy of the vinyl almost 20 years ago. Now it is finally available in CD form from CDbaby. Beyond the technical mastery of the horn, the thing that will probably strike you is the musicality that drips from each note. While there is often a temptation among brass players to play in a style "just because they can," Darling prefers to let the music guide the style. He shows incredible maturity of expression with a rich and fluid tone. To be sure, there are few trumpet players worldwide who play with this depth and artistry.

Event Video DVDs and other "Small Niche" Products
from YouTube :: Tag // modest July 22, 2008
http://tinyurl.com/MySilentTeamEbayCashIdeas Click the Link above to check out the board I'm talking about in the video. There's some great ideas there and I'd love to continue the semi-private conversation for REAL ideas that work simply and beautifully with you there. The first idea I mentioned in the video made me about $547 over one weekend after giving it an honest try. And yes, I said "TRY" because I didn't completely know what I was doing. I just followed the idea to the "T", placed my ad, resold the item and had ~$547 sitting in my PayPal account 2 evening later. The second idea I'm talking about in the video is what I'm trying to work on right now. Creating Event Videos is supposed to be pretty lucrative when you find the right events and get the video out there in front of buying eyballs (ebay works FAST!). The guy I learned this technique from says it's pretty simple to earn a "modest" $60,000 a year creating these videos. I'm currently figuring out how he does this right now...and this is the conversation I've started over at http://tinyurl.com/MySilentTeamEbayCashIdeas These small niche products WORK and there's several Pro's working with them over at the link I have above. (There's actually over $1500 worth of ebooks, online tools, and videos all for FREE at that site as well!) All those FREE resources and help available on the board are TOTALLY worth more than anything they could ever ask for it. Just two little ideas I picked up from the site (and I'm a bit of an internet "Dunce") allowed me to profit more than enough to take care of my membership for more than a year. I'm actually using these simple ideas to help pay off some bills I had stacking up from crappy online programs I had tried in the past. Those are all buy distant memories now that I found this site and started following a few SIMPLE ideas (and I mean total "No Brainer!" kinda simple ideas) from that site.
