Jamie Oliver
from The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos Video Podcast December 20, 2007
Jamie Oliver could not have predicted how working at The River Cafe would transform his life. Not only did he learn a lot about food and being a top chef, but he also got to be part of a documentary. When Jamie Oliver hit the airwaves, England was enamoured. Soon after, Jamie was offered his own TV series, The Naked Chef, and his career was born. In 2004, Jamie figured he should give back. Motivated by the junk food that kids were eating in school, he decided to take on the school food system. His goal? Educating and motivating the kids and dinner ladies to enjoy cooking and eating healthy, nutritious lunches instead of processed foods. Despite his seventh cookbook, 'Cook with Jamie', he says his proudest moment was securing government funding for his School Dinners project. His projects have been broadcast in over 50 countries and translated in 26 languages. Lecker, einfach und effektvoll. for the lads, part two
from Jamie's Podcast November 10, 2006
This is the second part of the very macho 'For The Lads' podcast, so it's more chat about those poor blokes who just can't cut it in the kitchen. In this show we cover those all important tips for the barbecue - the traditional domain of all men. I also whip up my perfect accompaniment for the ribeye steak I cooked up in the last podcast - a nice fresh horseradish and creme fraiche sauce with a beetroot and watercress salad. Matt Skinner talks full-bodied red wines to wash the beef down with. Tim Kay has provided all the music for these podcasts, and our Bob has a little chat with him at the end to find out a bit more about the man behind the pretty face and the guitar. Enjoy! for the lads, part one
from Jamie's Podcast October 27, 2006
This is my third podcast and it's one for the lads. We seemed to get quite a few phone calls to the podcast hotline from fellas who needed a bit of advice on how to impress the ladies with their culinary skills. So the gang and I offer what help we can. I also show how to cook up a nice bit of beef, Bob pays a visit to Fifteen Cornwall and we are treated to another song from Tim Kay. This podcast is the first of two on this theme. I just have to mention that some of the chat here is a bit more adult in nature than in previous podcasts. podcast 1: talking italian
from Jamie's Podcast September 29, 2006
Well here it is - my first podcast. It's all about Italian cooking and I'm joined by my very good friend and mentor, Gennaro Contaldo, who makes some lovely fresh pasta and then whips up a fantastic fresh pesto in super quick time. I'm also joined by the one and only Peter Begg - who knows pretty much everything about food. There's also Paul, Fifteen's sommelier, giving us advice on wine, and Bob at mission control takes some phone calls from the podcast hotline. I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Leave Bob some feedback on the pod blog, take a look at photos from the recording in the gallery and watch the video clip of Gennaro whipping up that pesto. Don't forget to come back soon for the second podcast! 1 - Talking Italian, part one Download the MP3 file by clicking on the link above, then go ahead and listen on your computer or MP3 player.
