Did you now that the micro-blogging startup JAIKU founded in 2006 by Petteri Koponen and Jyri Engestr m managed to burn 7,5 Mio before being sold to google?So its maybe that high burn rate that took google to shut down the development of JAIKU and make its code open source instead.Does that also mean that google sees no future for micro-blogging services in general? In this video, i talk about Ping.FM and the power of updating multiple social networks from one location. I demonstrate how to use the iPhone interface and talk about most of the different features that are available to you. Ping.fm also allows you to create custom triggers. These triggers can be used to divert updates to a specific social network. For example, if you create a custom trigger for Facebook called #fb, if you preceed your message with #fb, it will only update that partcular service. We have countless ways to communicate through the Internet other than emails

I've been mulling over some recent information I found online at The Guardian Unlimited about the difficulties we're experiencing in deepening our online relationships with social networking tools. These problems with online friending have captured my imagination and so I put up a post called "Will you be my friend" a week ago on my personal blog julians.name. In my attempts to be spontaneous and unedited (my vlogging policy) I misrepresented some of my true thinking on this topic. Perhaps a better way of saying this is that my current thinking is in flux. I'm feeling my way through this stuff just like many of you. I intended that post and a follow up (this one) to be published on our business blog exceler8ion. Here it is.
