For more information visit www.pbs.org/gperf. Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, the PBS broadcast coincides with the 50th anniversary of Stax and the relaunch of the label by Concord Music Group. One of the longest-running performing arts anthologies on television, the award-winning GREAT PERFORMANCES series presents the best in music, dance, and theater. The series is a production of Thirteen/WNET New York and funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the National Endowment for the Arts, public television viewers, and PBS.
