saif-ud-din-saif made a great classic of punjabi cinema which is possibly tht best punjabi movie ever made on the subject of the 1947 riots in the upheavel of the partition of punjab . the movie was intensely written with a true artistic zeal and the main lead has been immortalised on screen by the great pakistani actor Alauddin ,he plays the sikh character as a text-book lesson for actors today who cannot even come near this legendary portayal . you have to see the recent portrayals of sikhs in pathetic bollywood movies like HEROES ,GADDAR and veer zara ,not to mention singh is king to see how superb alauddin is in this realistic drama . the pristine direction leaves a bittersweet taste in your mouth as it show the apocalapse of the bloodshed much worst than any other human holocaust. this sensitively interprets the woman as most affected as always by a a civil war and musarrat nazeer plays the muslim damsel who is abducted by the rival gangs ,the twist is both noble and yet a great humane gesture when she is given refuge by a sikh man who adopts her as his daughter and protects her honour against his own community . the philosophy is entirely pure in sentiment and the execution of the ethereal concept from the mind of saif is even more puritanical . this is a sacred link between art and humanity with a brilliance which shines on like a guiding star . no other movie ever made in the sub-continent has even touched it in both intellect or reality ,with the possible exception of pinjar in recent times only ,though it also is not as affective as the simplicity of the towering character played by kartar as alauddin .
