Building Prototype Models with 3D Printing
from Revver - car Videos November 03, 2008
Author: inventhelp Added: Mon, 03 Nov 2008 15:54:26 -0800 Duration: 109What is a 3D prototype model? InventHelp defines a prototype model as a physical form of an invention or new product idea. Most inventions start as an idea within an inventors mind. This idea can be translated into sketches or sophisticated graphics. The prototype model is essentially the actual shape of the invention as a product in use. A 3D prototype model is seldom a final developed product. It is a model of how the final product may look. The prototype model is often to scale and not actual size. For example, a prototype model of a new flying car could be just a few inches in size, but would depict the folding wings intended for the invention. It is not intended to fly. The sole purpose of a 3D prototype model is to demonstrate how an invention may be used. Some say a picture is worth a thousand words. InventHelp feels that a prototype model is the further development of a picture into a shape. The greatest success of a prototype model is for someone to say, Now I get it!

Inspiring Invention-Suction Tires
from Metacafe - Today's Videos by Metacafe August 14, 2008
Through its history, America has been among the most innovative countries in the world. In order to continue this tradition, the Ad Council has partnered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the National Inventors Hall of Fame to create the Inspiring Invention PSA campaign in an effort to inspire a new generation of inventors. The campaign messaging is designed to encourage children, ages 8-11, to take an interest in inventing and to make creativity a fun and rewarding part of their lives. Using the messaging “Anything’s possible. Keep thinking.” provides kids with the motivating message that if you can imagine it then you can make it a reality. To renew this important message, the latest PSAs feature even more imaginative and outlandish inventions. Each featured invention shows an “inventor’s” imaginative improvements to everyday objects. The PSAs also direct kids to visit the campaign’s fully interactive Web site Inventnow.org. On the site kids are able to learn more about inventing, play exciting games and share their own inventions.
