From the time I could walk, I was a baseball player. In the neighborhood in which I grew up, my friends and I would play from morning until night. I played all through T-Ball until my early 20's. When I was 19, I also started playing slo-pitch softball with one of my T-Ball teammates. It wasn't long until teams were asking me to come play for them. I was a power-hitting shortstop in those early days. I later became a pitcher out of necessity, and my infield skills served me well in that position. Eventually, I was playing for one of the top 4 teams in country. I won numerous NIT and State titles, individual awards, and three World Series rings by the time I hung up the spikes at the end of the 2002 season. I got a phone call today that anyone who ever plays competitive sports dreams of getting; over the weekend at a banquet in Rockford, IL, it was announced that I have been elected to the 2009 Class of the IL United States Specialty Sports Association Hall of Fame in the Male Player category. Needless to say I'm very excited at the news. I called one of my teammates from the Mountain Top team in Michigan tonight to tell him the news. I can't tell you how much I miss these guys that I played with and spent so many weekends with each summer for so many years. It'll be great to have them in attendance for my induction next year. After a couple of weeks off, we actually managed to do a show tonight! Thanks for you patience and your concerns as I do my best to bring some semblance of order to the chaos that has been my life lately. I've been doing some photography for our local newspaper; it's been a lot of fun, but it's taken me away from my usual routine at times. The emails I've received have reinforced the importance of this show to me, and I'll do my best to ensure it remains a priority in the future. That being said, here's tonight's playlist which features new music from Parallel Or 90 Degrees and Martin Orford: Secret Saucer - Tranquility BaseShadow Gallery - Floydian Memories (for the late Mike Baker)Parallel Or 90 Degrees - Afterlifecycle SequenceMartin Orford - The Old RoadMartin Orford - Out In The DarknessMartin Orford - The Time And The SeasonKarmakanic - Who's The Boss In The FactoryParallel Or 90 Degrees - Four Egos One WarThe Dream Academy - Life In A Northern TownArt In America - Art In AmericaAsia - Wildest DreamsRed Rider - Light In The Tunnel / Human RaceToy Matinee - There Was A Little Boy ]]>

Complete documentary: http://www.documentary-log.com/?id=35 Take a tour through the "Art Gallery of the Galaxy" and view what are considered the "crown jewels" of the heavens. Nebulas are mysterious clouds of gas that aren't classified as stars, planets, moons or asteroids. Astronomers use the most sophisticated techniques to view them since they are practically invisible to the naked eye. Nothing less than stunning, nebulas glow, reflect or obscure the galaxy's light with amazing swirls of color. Nebulas mark the regions where the nothingness of space first coalesces, where stars are born and where stars die. Cutting-edge computer graphics are used to bring the universe down to earth. From : YouTube :: Tag // floyd
The Man and the Journey - "The Labyrinths of Auximines" (Part of "Interstellar Overdrive", from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn) The Man and the Journey is the name of a conceptual music piece performed at Pink Floyd live shows in 1969. It consists of several of their early songs coupled with material that would appear on Soundtrack from the Film More and Ummagumma, as well as unreleased songs. The material was incorporated into two album-length suites, The Man and The Journey. The concerts also included visual performance elements such as the sawing and construction of a table and consumption of afternoon tea onstage. The concept was first performed 14 April, 1969 at the Royal Festival Hall in a show billed as The Massed Gadgets of Auximenes - More Furious Madness from Pink Floyd. A truncated version of the show was recorded 12 May, 1969 for the Top Gear radio programme. The 17 September performance in Amsterdam is the most widely bootlegged of the shows on the tour because it was broadcast by radio station VPRO. Plans for an official live album release of The Man and the Journey were considered, but abandoned due to overlap of material with Ummagumma. To most fans, the work is either entirely unknown or at least unrecognized as the genesis of Pink Floyd's 'themed pieces'. The band themselves have seldom made reference to it in later interviews. Yet the unique combination of quadraphonic sound effects, abstract program music, and recursive themes — all of which can be traced to The Man and The Journey — were to become further developed in the band's most enduring music. From : InterstellarOverdrive
Tonight s show is my last in my home of the past 6+ years. Chris, Anna, and I moved here in February of 2002, and our lives have seen the full gamut as Andy Tillison so aptly put it: joy, sorrow, accomplishment, elation, tragedy, sadness, frustration, but through all of it there has always been two overriding emotions that have held it all together; humor and love. When we moved here we didn t expect to be here this long. I thought we d be able to buy a house after a couple of years, but all that changed with one slip of a ladder. Chris recently got a place in Chicago closer to work. The frustration of fighting traffic for up to four hours a day finally got to be too much, and lately her job has become demanding to the point that all of her time was being spent doing work-related things. Until my work comp case is settled and Anna finishes junior college, I felt I need to stay close to home until all things here are settled. Only problem is my SS Disability isn t enough to afford to stay here, so I m going to be spending some time with my parents for a while. I m hopeful that when everthing is finally settled, Chris and I can buy an old house with a nice yard for Trooper and never have to move again. I m allowed to dream... New music on tonight s show! Carl Westholm of Carptree has a solo project called Jupiter Society and is joined by Declan Burke of Darwin s Radio. The album is called First Contact//Last Warning . We ve also got the 3rd album from fellow Swede s Brother Ape, this album is called, simply, III . And finally, after featuring the new album from Polish proggers Believe last month, we now bring you some bonus material from the special edition verision of Yesterday Is A Friend . Anyway, she called my tonight right at the end of my show and we have currently agreed to meet next Wednesday afternoon. I ve been working on hooking up with her for months, so I ll take what I can get, though it may interfere with my webcasting schedule. So, if nothing comes up between now and then to change our plans, I will not broadcast, or if I do it will be later in the evening. More on this next week. ]]>
