He s performed the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof , and in 1979 and 82, won the Austrian National Competition of Jugend musiziert . He had relatives in the GDR, but wasn t allowed to visit the immediate surrounds. In fact, it wasn t until 1989 that he saw his very own hometown from the East a peculiar, yet telling story. Gerhard has a PhD in Physics and came to Australia in 2007. The avid soccer fan, who cycles to work, teaches the History and Philosophy of Science, at the University of Melbourne.
