Tony Cruz and Neil Browne are neighbors. Tony is learning to play the bass. Neil plays, uh, not sure. Anyway, Neil and Tony chat on occasion, and this time we ran into Tony at the entrance to the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. He was off to dinner, we were waiting for our bags so we could get the hell out of Dodge.

Our boy Jeremy Powers, the bundle of positive energy who rides for Team Jelly Belly finished 3rd on the day with an epic ride that was full gas from the get-go. Jeremy felt the energy of the place and along with his great talent and the fact that he is featured in the latest issue of ROAD brought his A-game to the fore resulting in a great result.

It's one of the best stage races out there and Tim Healion is the master behind it. It's racing sure, but it's a festival for the senses with food, fun, music, a great family atmosphere, and all set in one of the best places in the country: The Tahoe area. Mix in a little bit of Truckee, Tahoe, and Reno and you have a recipe for one top-notch experience. Check out for 2008 because with a new schedule and added stages, it should be something you mark on your calendar.

The cross racing in Las Vegas at Interbike was fantastic. The women's race came down Bissette and Compton with Lynn winning. The men's race was magnetic with the "who's-who" of cross racing. Here's some post-race hijunx including Tim Johnson.
