Words cannot express how deeply I was moved by the kindness and spirit of the lovely people there who live under one of the most oppressive regimes in the world that has kept them so very poor. They dream of democracy and freedom and for a better future. I promised I would do what I could to help in what little way I can. I met group of people on their way to a secret meeting in Rangoon to fight for freedom and democracy. Before they got off the bus one man turned to me, smiled and said, "Change is coming!" The people of Burma look to the United States, to Obama and to us to end their suffering. The sanctions have just made everything worse and impoverished them even more. This yellow tofu is unique to Shan State, Myanmar/Burma. Inle Pancake Kingdom brings this exotic food into to your home, showing a traditional factory preparing the tofu. There are many of these factories around the mystical Inle Lake which has a community that includes floating gardens, lotus and silk weaving, leg-rowers, 12th century pagodas, hot springs and jumping-cats.

Cette trag die m'a beaucoup marqu e... En effet, j'aurais du me trouver sur un cargo birman au moment de la catastrophe... Mais une pr monition m'a fait annuler mon trip maritime et pouss e dans les belles montagnes du Lac Inle en Birmanie !!! Merci aux Dieux de m'avoir pargn e... Ce m me jour, nous avons v cu un tremblement de terre au bord du lac Inle... Chose tout fait trange, une l gende locale dit que "chaque fois qu'une des 4 statues de Buddha les plus sacr es de Birmanie sont d plac es sans que les autres le soient simultan ment, UNE CATASTROPHE NATURELLE SE PRODUIT...
