A tragic accident involving Deep South Crane workers and equipment occurred at the Lyondel Basells Houston Refining facility in Houston, Texas. A Crane collapsed and killed 4 during a routine maintenance at this chemical plant while 6 remain injured. Jim Roecker, Vice President for refining at LyondellBasell said that the crane operated by Deep South Crane and Rigging was not scheduled to be active on Friday, although the engine was running after it hit the ground. Deep South Crane and Rigging issued a statement earlier today and says that Our primary concern now is the identification of the injured employees and the notification of families. We are taking every measure to ensure that the injured employees receive the best possible medical attention. The company asks for your prayers for all the families at this difficult time.
