How I skim my "high volume" feeds: information overload
from Vimeo / Recent Public Videos March 28, 2008
How I skim my "high volume" feeds: information overload from Clint Ecker on Vimeo. I've long thought it would be interesting to make a video of how people with tons of feeds skim them and pull out interesting information. This is my "high volume" folder which holds posts from sites which post 10+ more items a day and which I could "mark all as read" and not miss much. When I skim through these posts, this is how I do it. Each post probably gets less than a second to catch my attention. You can definitely see which posts get a bit more time than others. The one with the couple having sex was pretty interesting ;) Cast: Clint Ecker

WTP 159: Insurgent Web, Information Overload, Iran Dual-Fuel, and Alan Johnston
from PRI's The World: Technology from BBC/PRI/WGBH July 06, 2007
First up -- a new from highlights how insurgent groups in Iraq are using the internet to put out their messages. No real surprise, but the report is a real behind the scenes look at this material, most of which is in Arabic. Download the entire report in PDF. Next up -- information overload goes global. Tired of being connected 24/7 to your BlackBerry, Palm, or gulp...iPhone? Well, apparently you're not alone. The World's Jason Margolis will fill you in. Third -- Iran says it will soon stop producing gas-only cars, in favor of dual-fuel vehicles that can run on gasoline, or on . We'll hear more from the LA Times Middle East Correspondent. And we send you out into your weekend with a report I did on July 4th about the release of BBC Gaza Correspondent . He was held captive for 114 days by a Palestinian group calling itself the Army of Islam. Timeline and background . It ain't tech, but it's a good story. Oh, and here's that that I promised you in the podcast. Have a great weekend!
