Podcast 125 interview with Alan Kupperberg - Part 3
from cindy center June 17, 2008
Part 3 of our interview with Alan Kupperberg. Alan Kupperberg is a comic artist known for working in both comic books and newspaper strips. Also occasionally working as a writer, he created the successful one-shot comic, Obnoxio the Clown vs. The X-Men as a one-man band handling everything from writing and illustrating to lettering, unusual for the comic industry at that time. Known for a more "cartoony" style than many other superhero artists employed, he seemed to specialize in nasty clowns for a while, illustrating not only Marvel's "Obnoxio" pieces but also National Lampoon's Evil Clown Comics. His newspaper work includes The Incredible Hulk, Howard the Duck and Annie. Kupperberg has recently produced some nostalgic pieces drawn from his own life and experiences in the comics industry, which have been acclaimed by insiders as accurate and affecting. (Wikipedia 2008) In the interview Alan discusses his past projects and his working style. Listen to the 1st part of the interview with Alan

Heart of the Night Show Encore from August 8th, 2006
from Heart of the Night Show - Indie Rock, Pop, Folk and Variety Music April 30, 2008
This encore episode of the Heart of the Night Show reaches back to August of 2006 to run the gamut with an all out bit of madness from refrag (New Zealand) to a gentle acoustic tune from Misanthropy (UK). In between, tunes from a great gaggle of Canadian musicians, including Melissa McClelland, LoadPuller, Tim Tibbitts, Carly and Mark, and Daniel Iorio. The show ends with Iowa's Circle of Friends and show hostess, jill no jack, taking a turn as vocalist to poke a bit of fun at everyone's favorite "Pop Princess", Britney Spears. (Yeah...that's right - everyone is taking a turn at that these days, eh? It's starting to not even be fun anymore.) One click subscription in iTunes! One Click Subscription!
