Chitthi aai Hai - Naam - Sanjay Dutt (Pankaj Udhas, Laxmikant Pyarelal)
from YouTube :: Tag // punjab June 30, 2008
There would not have been too many people who have not heard this song at least once. Featuring in the 1986 movie Naam starring Kumar Gaurav, Sanjay Dutt, Amrita Singh and Poonam Dhillon, the song was a mega-hit. Pankaj Udhas was a well known Ghazal singer even then, but this song made him very popular. The movie had music by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and the movie was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Rajendra Kumar. The song also touched a lot of NRI’s, given that the song was essentially a reminder of home, and the people who have been left behind and who just have memories now. This movie was a movie that was supposed to bring Kumar Gaurav some success, but it was the role of Sanjay Dutt as the more wayward son (with a good heart), but who eventually gets involved in drug smuggling which gave a good filip to his fame. from FORA.tv - Daily Video FORAcast June 10, 2008
Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2008/04/28/Vandana_Shiva_in_Conversation Environmental researcher and activist Vandana Shiva points out that as India has taken on greater production of global goods, it has also taken on a proportionate amount of global pollution. ----- Since the 1980s, Shiva has championed the anti-globalization movement and is one of the leaders of the International Forum on Globalization. Her research and resultant advocacy explores the applicability of traditional Vedic knowledge and ecology to alleviate poverty in developing countries. She is the founder and director of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology, and Ecology, an organization whose research has validated the ecological value of traditional farming and whose efforts have been instrumental in fighting destructive building projects in India. Shiva has also been active in repositioning women in the debate on development, for which she received the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the "Alternative Nobel Peace Prize." Shiva has authored over 300 papers in leading scientific and technical journals and books include Biopiracy, Stolen Harvest, Monocultures of the Mind, and Water Wars. - City Arts and Lectures Born in India in 1952, Vandana Shiva is a world-renowned environmental leader and thinker. In 1993, Shiva won the Alternative Nobel Peace Prize (the Right Livelihood Award). The founder of Navdanya ("nine seeds"), a movement promoting diversity and use of native seeds, she also set up the Research Foundation for Science, Technology, and Ecology in her mother's cowshed in 1997. Havasupai waterfalls, Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) May 27, 2008
The Havasu Baaja (meaning the-people-of-the-blue-green-waters), or more commonly the Havasupai, are a Native American tribe located in the northwestern part of the American state of Arizona. The tribe is well-known for being the only permanent inhabitants in the Grand Canyon, where they have lived for over 800 years. The main "claim-to-fame" for the Tribe is its richly colored waters and its awe-inspiring waterfalls, both of which have made this small community become a bustling tourist hub that attracts thousands of people every year.
