Imagining the Tenth Dimension - Rob Bryanton [FULL CLIP]
from youtube :: recently added videos November 01, 2008
Imagining the Tenth Dimension: A New Way of Thinking about Time and Space http://www.tenthdimension.com by Rob Bryanton Reality, today's physicists tell us, is created by the vibrations of exquisitely tiny superstrings in ten spatial dimensions. Ten dimensions? Most of us have barely gotten used to the idea that there are four. Using simple geometry and an easygoing writing style, author Rob Bryanton starts with the lower dimensions that we are all familiar with, then uses those concepts to build one layer upon another, ultimately arriving at a way of imagining the tenth dimension. Part scientific exploration, part philosophy, this unique book touches upon such diverse topics as dark matter, Feynman's "sum over paths," the quantum observer, and the soul. It is aimed at anyone interested in leading-edge theories about cosmology and the nature of reality, but it is not about mainstream physics. Rather, Imagining the Tenth Dimension is a mind-expanding exercise that could change the way you view this incredible universe in which we live. [For the longest time, this was a 12-minute clip, or two separate clips... that always bothered me, especially since the only person who had a working version of the whole video got banned. So, I did some editing work and ACTUALLY managed to trim 50 seconds out of this without losing any information... I'm surprised I was able to, I hope you all enjoy] Author: OcularStream Keywords: imagining the tenth 10th dimension Rob Bryanton theories physics cosmology quantum scientific exploration philosophy Added: October 31, 2008

Tonkawa Tribe Machinima
from YouTube :: Tag // machinima December 07, 2007
This is a video I created for my Imagining the Southwest class at Southwestern University. Since the class was basically a joke, I decided to use Halo 3 to create a presentation to go along with my final paper. Throughout the semester, I had made several references to 'tea-bagging' our professors children and husband...all to the delight of my classmates. This video brings the issue of tea-bagging to the forefront of our discussions. Please enjoy responsibly. This video is not meant to ridicule the lives of Native Americans, or the Tonkawa people, in any way. I actually did do research on the topic, and am aware of the struggles of this people to maintain a culture as the Anglo settlers arrived. Imagining a World Without Humans
from NPR: Science Friday November 23, 2007
What would happen to the Earth if all humans suddenly disappeared? In his new book The World Without Us, author Alan Weisman discusses how long it would take for all evidence of human life to vanish from the planet. Weisman says that after just two days without human intervention, the New York City subway system would be flooded. After one year, every nuclear power plant on Earth would have failed or melted down.
