November 9, 2008 - It was a bit of a dry week, and Conor had a hard time with that, but luckily Josh didn't as he found a bit of gold in DC event of the year, Final Crisis Comics: 00:02:40 - Josh was reminded of the greatness of Rucka, Trautmann and Checkmate with Final Crisis: Resist 00:12:25 - Ron and the iFanboy community all agreed that Gigantic #1, the latest from Rick Remender, is kickass. 00:17:15 - Power Girl is bringing us down in Justice Society of America 00:19:48 - Conor didn't hate Ultimatum #1 from Jeph Loeb and David Finch 00:24:13 - Back to Brooklyn #2 was a strong follow up to the first issue. 00:26:26 - Joe Kelly's writing and Chris Bachalo's art makes for an excellent Amazing Spider-Man #576 00:28:16 - House of Mystery #7 is continually enjoyable for Josh, especially with David Petersen on art. 00:30:11 - Josh noticed a NEW Sandman book by P. Craig Russell! It's the comic adaptation of The Dream Hunters, and if you like Sandman you have to get this. 00:32:12 - Guerillas #2 from Image Comics took a turn, but in a great way and Josh is loving it. In Soviet Russia, war comic reads you. 00:12:40 - Captain America: Operation Zero Point features a hard talkin', authentic sounding Lower East Side WW2 Cap. 00:17:00 - Mike Mignola is back on Hellboy: In the Chapel of Moloch, and Ron didn't care. 00:20:28 - Superman #681 continues the ascent of quality. Again, Ron doesn't care. 00:24:45 - Finally Ron read one of the books, and wants to know why Rage of the Red Lanterns was not Pick of the Week. 00:29:38 - A new favorite Spider-Man artist is discovered as David Lafuente Garcia owns the art on Ultimate Spider-Man Annual #3. 00:33:18 - Empowered #4 must not be overlooked! 00:35:38 - According to Ron, 1985 #6 was the best thing Mark Millar has ever written. Also, Galactus can't find his hex key. 00:39:34 - Jack of Fables #27 was excellent, and is still being published. User Reviews: 00:41:25 - Parker isn't happy about his purchase of Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes #1. 00:43:35 - ali3nheadhunter is amazingly concise in his take on Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. Well, let's kiss the ass of Green Lantern #35 as well. 00:24:20 - And if you like Green Lantern so much, why didn't you read Green Lantern Corps #25? 00:27:00 - Josh and Mike were pretty much thumbs up for Ender's Game Battle School #1, if you've read the novel. 00:32:17 - More novel adaptation? September 28, 2008 - Ron makes his triumphant return to the podcast, and just in time for a packed week of quality comic books. 00:01:38 - Marvel: 1985 #1 was the pick and really, did any other book stand a chance? 00:12:12 - Mark Millar was on a roll this week, with Fantastic Four #560 being a ton of fun. 00:16:00 - Conor's pick of the week stress was relieved by picking Powers #30, which was a strong end to volume 2. 00:22:07 - Hellboy: The Crooked Man #3 ended stronger than it started and Josh was extremely satisfied by it. 00:24:40 - All the iFanboys are going Back to Brooklyn #1 with Palmiotti and Ennis. 00:30:15 - Proof #12 made not only Ron, but surprisingly Josh, squeal with glee. 00:33:40 - New Avengers #45 had awesome art, the story? Plus, Josh has some issues with the script. 00:01:48 - Conor's glad to see Matt Murdock back to form at the end of Rucka and Brubaker's reunion on his Pick of the Week: Daredevil #110. 00:11:37 - Brad Meltzer confuses us a little with DC Universe Last Will and Testatment. Some good and some bad. 00:18:10 - Josh didn't manage to get a copy of Kick-Ass #4, but he is reassured that it is just as its predecessors were. And you know what that is. 00:22:49 - Final Crisis Rogue's Revenge #1 makes Ron love Len Snart all the more. 00:27:00 - Guerilla's #1 has monkeys.
