From : Kansas City Weather Podcast
My wife just called to say that we lost power at home. The trees are showing some serious sag, so I wouldn t be surprised to see scattered power outages increase still this afternoon. With no power at home it likely means that there will be no update to KCWeather tonight. Remember that you can still catch me via the KCWeather twitter stream. follow KCWeather at http://twitter.com

From : Kansas City Weather Podcast
Some of the higher-resolution computer models are now picking up on my thoughts that the ice to the south will keep our temperatures below freezing. This increases my confidence that we will indeed see an all freezing rain event. Unfortunately, not very good news. However, it also appears that the heaviest band of precipitation will lie across south-central KS, into NE KS and into north-central MO. Ice, sleet, snow accumulations could run close to 1.5 inches. That said, most data continues to point to 3/4 to 1 inch of ice here in KC, with the possibility of greater amounts if we see some thunderstorms develop. LISTEN NOW!
