This is a short film written and directed by Ryan Johnson. It's a story of a young chess master (Alex Witschey) who travels through Europe on a train. He meets an old man (Bill Flynn) who teaches him a thing or two about life and more importantly himself. It was made with a small budget and shot in only one weekend. This is the first full cut for the premiere, so it will go through a few more revisions before a festival cut. It was staffed by Texas Chrisitan University's Student Filmmakers Association. Special thanks to the Trinity Railway Express, Tager TV, College of Communication at TCU, Radiohead, and Interpol. Enjoy!

This is a documentary shot by a few friends and I. It is a look at Texas' over eating culutre and how over eating is glorified and the impact it has on us as humans. We follow Mike Best as he journeys to Amarillo, TX in an attempt to eat a 72 oz steak at the world famous Big Texan. It's a look into a culture many of us never see.

This is a demo reel created for possible employers. It consists of a few short fiction films, a few documentaries, and a couple short coke spots. It's only a small representation of all the work I've done, bu will give you a pretty good idea of quality and type of experience. The file is compressed down quite a bit. I was in my apartment when I shot this parity of the movie jumper. You can see that I'm a real geek when I spend my weekend with my HVX200 and not a girl. I didn't even shoot this to show anyone. I was just practicing Final Cut Pro. I just thought the viewers of The Michael Hurdle Show could get a good laugh from this.
