Author: IanChase Added: Sun, 29 Apr 2007 20:10:11 -0800 Duration: 50A fake title sequence to non-existant movie based on Aldous Huxley's novel, Brave New World. I did this piece as an assignment for one of my classes. The title sequence assumes that a movie based on the book would follow the story as presented (at least for the opening scene) and would take place in a "hatchery" that features a large embrio chamber where children are essentially developed like film, crimson light and all. Taking that theme and running with it, I imagined the group of medical students touring the facility, taking notes on everything they see. Rather using a note-pad though, I except they would use something more akin to a futuristic tablet PC that would transcribe their quick-hand into legible writing and provide them with reference information and relevant pictures with the slightest instruction. Carrying it one step further, from there I incorporated lots of futuristic line and bubble particles into the transitions to help reinforce the futuristic and medical themes, plus the sterilizing red color throughout the title sequence helps excite the viewer and hopefully get them a little creeped out in anticipation of the story about to unfold. The music is a particular selection from "Reality Detached" by The Forth to help keep the mood a little eerie. Finally, all the big name stars in the credits don't have anything in particular to do with this piece, they were assigned to me (and my class) by my Editing Theories professor. Done entirely in After Effects 6.5, Premiere Pro 2.0 and Photoshop CS2.
