Aloha Life with Alika (Explore Your Spirit with Kala Metaphysical Talk Show)Aloha Life with Alika (Explore Your Spirit with Kala Metaphysical Talk Show)
from Explore Your Spirit with Kala
August 11, 2008

From the beautiful energy of Hawaii, Kala speaks with Alika about Aloha Life. Aloha translates from Hawaiian into English into many, many things -- all of them good. Anyone who has visited the islands of Hawai'i knows that the moment you arrive, the Spirt of Aloha fills your soul. To live an Aloha Life is to use the power of Aloha to elevate, empower, and ennoble yourself in your life and the lives of those around you. According to Alika, "To live an Aloha Life was a method that was TRUTH for my ancestors and was integral to their daily lives. This way of life has been passed down through the generations. When I was younger, I was on a path of a destruction -- lashing out at a world that I had perceived as being against me. My tutu (grandmother) began instructing me on how to live an Aloha Life and more importantly, how to use the key to prosperity, peace and harmony that is Aloha for the betterment of the lives of others." Enjoy this interview with Kala as she speaks about one her favorite places on Earth, Hawaii as she shares the beautiful Aloha spirit with Alika! More About Alika: Alika was born Alika Medeiros in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. The child of a Portuguese father and a native Hawai'ian mother, his father abandoned his family when he was a child and he was raised with the influence of his mother and his mother's family. When he was younger, Alika acted out and got into all the sorts of trouble a young man can. His actions were spurred by a resentment toward his father and all of the other hardships he had faced as a youngster. While a teen, Alika was in a horrible surfing accident that shattered his ankle and left him unable to walk. Faced with the prospect of never being able to walk again, he fell into a deep depression. His grandmother began practicing the ancient Hawai'ian Lomi (massage) on him while explaining to him the wonders of Huna, a traditional Hawai'ian spirituality. Within months, Alika had completely healed. It was during one of these sessions with his grandmother that Alika fell into a trance-like state and experienced a moment of total clarity. He knew at this moment that by creating what he calls an "Aloha Life" he could help others to release the "Kahuna" within. What began as a young man's idealism to change the world has turned into Alika's lifetime crusade. Through his "Aloha Life" workshops, healing touch seminars and his own Kilo Lani yoga techniques, he has helped people worldwide to transform the quality of their lives and the lives of those around them. Discuss this in our online community! This is Fibonacci with another installment of Applying Huna to Business. In this episode, I tell a story about how I helped a team member change the way she thought about a situation such that it dramatically changed the way she felt about it. The net result of her positive feeling was a boost in her performance. You see, business is all about creating value.  To do that, you need both a sense of creativity and efficiency. Another way to think about high performance is to think about it as high efficiency. The story I tell is one of a Go-Live Readiness Review meeting where we caught a product deficiency before we released it to the user community. To remedy the situation we delegated greater authority to one team member to make sure that her colleagues got a bunch of data integrity tasks completed in the next few days. I explain how I worked with this person to reset the way she thought about her new role and in a very few Instant Messages turned her emotions from defeating to empowering. This conversation can provide a template for any number of professional situations to drive high performance. fibonacci’s Mobile post sent by fibonacci using Utterz.  Replies.  mp3

from Beach Walks with Rox
December 05, 2007

t gets cast often as "human nature" to take things for granted, to mainly speak up about problems, to forget to notice what is working well. We recently launched a project that was several years and many staff changes in the making. The last mile was excruciating for us in some ways, and went largely unappreciated by the client. Meanwhile tonight I was at our Councilmember's neighborhood meeting, where she too was largely approached by unhappy citizens who want things to be different. I am happy to say I think we made some forward movement tonight, and for me, it is really important to keep holding out the possibility that people will be able to see things from a new perspective, will be able to appreciate the passion of another's point of view even if they don't ultimately agree.Today it was so incredibly beautiful at the beach. Just as I felt in my heart the awe for how so many things are working without our labored input, I looked out to sea and there appeared a rainbow. How precious. And speaking of precious, little AJ is our keiki of the week!Hawaiian Word: Huna: hidden, secret Anuenue: rainbow Keiki: childPlease check out our Blogroll page with many more links. Huna Training section is up with an official podcast planned. Don t miss Vader Sessions. Hilarious! Understanding and resolving conflicting beliefs Lots of feedback on the last show #62 Resolving conflictign beliefs is the key to solving the difficult problems in life Illness is a reflection of conflicting beliefs Significant change is impossible if it conflicts with existing beliefs What are conflicting beliefs and why are they so important to identify? A conflicting belief is when one significant belief within the ku directly runs counter to another belief and due to circumstances those beliefs must operate at the same time, placing them against each other. It is literally a battle against yourself which is why it is so damaging. Classic example: Raised in a healthy environment with strong family values - belief is formed that family is very important and the #1 priority. Observations in early life lead one to believe that one needs to be financially successful in order to live a good life. Throughout most of this person s life, these beliefs operated just fine as he was single, working very hard to become financially successful, and his family was very supportive. Worked even after he got married as his wife was career oriented and they both worked hard to become successful. Having children, however, brought these beliefs into direct conflict. The drive to be successful, powered by the belief that you can t have a good life otherwise, went right up against the family is #1 priority, because he could see the children were suffering because both parents worked. Classic example of how beliefs can go one for most of a lifetime and then suddenly be put into conflict with each other. These beliefs worked very hard, against each other. The success belief drove him to work hard, while the family belief made him feel terrible, to the point where he started getting sick. The illness manifested itself in the legs, developing arthritis. Legs = moving forward through life, which the current conflict was not allowing him to do. Solution: Once these beliefs were identified, the couple discussed the issue and decided that it would be OK to take a financial breather for few years until the kids were older. They reset their lifestyle by getting rid of the frills and reducing their expenses. The wife agreed to keep working while the husband would stay home and take care of the kids. The conflict was immediately resolved as was the difficulty in the legs. The husband was able to find a little time to write and ended up earning money writing columns. It didn t replace the original income but combined with eliminating luxury items resulted in nearly no change in financial status. The husband spent tons of time with his kids, improving the health of the whole family, as the mom was able to work harder at her job as well. Conflicts don t need to be deep seated to have an effect on you. If you think about it, most of the reasons why you get upset are due to conflicting beliefs. Quick example: many people get upset by being stuck in traffic. Why? One reason might be they have a strong belief that its important to be efficient and getting things done all the time. This of course conflicts with the fact of being stuck in traffic with little to do. How could this be resolved? Many ways: Avoid traffic! Figure out something to do while stuck in traffic (like listening to Podcasts!) so you can still feel like you re getting things done. Understand the belief working against you and allow yourself to become unproductive while stuck in traffic. After the break: How to resolve conflicting beliefs. Break Student tuitions - Mahalo Nui! Angela P. Jose V. Another Amazon payment. How to resolve conflicting beliefs The key to resolving is to: Understand the beliefs at work. Understand how the ku came to accept those beliefs. Understand how the beliefs conflict with each other and why. Make an appropriate change the resolves the conflicting beliefs. How do beliefs work? The Ku is a thinking computer, completely 100% logic based. The logic is executed from a system of pre-defined beliefs, which the Ku developed over time. By observing/listening to authority figures: parents, teachers, leaders. By the memories of its own experiences. New experiences/observations are compared against the existing belief network. Conflicts with existing beliefs are discarded/filed as irrelevant. Congruence with exiting beliefs are used to strengthen those beliefs. Entirely new ideas that don t conflict with anything start their own thread and based on subsequent experience will either weaken or strengthen the belief. Important to understand that just because logic is at work doesn t mean you won t get completely unpredictable results, example: Mom says don t go out in the cold with wet hair, you ll catch a cold . Ku accepts this as true. You go outside with wet hair, and sure enough you catch a cold. This strengthens the belief. Since you know this to be true you blow dry your hair to avoid catching a cold, further strengthening the belief. Unless you decide to understand the fundamentals and change this belief, every time you go out in the cold with wet hair you will catch a cold. Of course, catching a cold has very, very little to do with having wet hair. How do you expose the beliefs underneath a conflict? Here s a technique good for conflicts that bring about strong emotions: Remove yourself from the emotion. I am really angry becomes I am feeling anger . Allow the emotion to fully execute and remember to not allow the emotion to drive your actions. As it is happening, keep a 3rd person view and your question is, Why am I feeling this anger? Why am I so upset? . Good Ku-mmunication and simple meditation will typically bring a whole collection of reasons. If you re having difficulty, try using garden techniques. Bring forward a programmers/debugger/engineer/wizard/ who will tell you what is going on inside. Record the results. Once you have a pretty good idea of the beliefs currently at work, you can then use basic logical analysis to find out which beliefs are conflicting and why. Then comes the real work: making changes to remove the conflict. How? Eliminate the condition that allows those beliefs to come into play. e.g. Avoid traffic, leave earlier. Remove the stimulus that fires off either belief, e.g. listen to podcasts while stuck in traffic. Re-interpret the beliefs so that they don t come into conflict, e.g. being stuck in traffic has nothing to do with my being efficient and getting things done. It s a cost of doing business. No big deal. Summary of how-to using the Huna principles in action: Ike: be aware of what it is that you want to change or heal. Kala: Let go of all the conflicting beliefs that prohit the change or are creating the dis-ease. Makia: Focus your attention on the new patterns that will resolve the conflict. Manawa: Do this especially when you feel a strong emotional response within. Aloha: Praise your own progress Mana: Maintain a confident expectation that E)verything I)s W)orking O)out P)erfectly Pono: You ll know when you re done when the symptoms of the conflict are gone. Homework: Identify a conflict that you want to resolve. Apply the techniques to understand the beliefs. Resolve the conflict in a way that works best for you. Share your story with us on the bbs! Show Content How to effortlessly have anything you want Consider the infinite intentions that are effortlessly manifested. Want love? Reach out to a loved one and feel it. What to eat? Open the fridge and there it is. Want money? You are earning something. Play a sport, play music? How easy is it to do? Weight control: how much effort does it take to stay at your current weight? Consider the intentions you may have difficulties with: Finding a love. Increasing wealth. Improving relationships. Losing weight. Eliminating bad habits. (bad = working against you) Count the intentions you effortlessly manifest vs. the ones you are having difficulty with and there s no question that nearly anything you want is instantly given. Compare youself to others: nearly zero effort to maintain current levels yet there are millions of people that have better and less than you do each of them uses nearly zero effort. those with less than you have been trying to get where you are yet have great difficulty in doing so weight loss wealth friend What is going on? We each exist at a certain vibrational level or frequency which is the sum total of our existing beliefs. This becomes the Ku s automatic pilot at which is operates. Any intention existing at that vibrational level is effortlessly manifested. Why can t I? be a millionaire lose 40 pounds socialize with the rich and famous? Manifesting the blue feather - what kind of cases do we see? People who reject their success. People that take a long time People that get it done immediately. The reason why you can t do certain things is that the change you want conflicts with existing, stronger beliefs and/or a higher vibrational frequency. The current vibration/belief structure was established in your childhood from 0-10 (yes, zero) and typically remained unchanged. It can be changed, like any other habit: Some habits can be changed easily. Others are a little tougher Some seem impossible. Easily changed habits are ones that your Ku does not hold deeply. e.g. brushing teeth the kind of coffee you drink (maybe not!) Hard to change habits are an important indication of tightly held beliefs Money: why do some people easily increase their wealth why others have a nearly impossible time? Job: Why did Wynyfryd s new career manifest within just a few weeks yet others can t seem to do the same? What is the nature behind tightly held beliefs and how do we change them? Break Student tuitions - Mahalo Nui! Jose V What is the nature behind tightly held beliefs and how do we change them? The Ku has collected a set of beliefs that it believes are important to its survival and security. Some are primal: eat, breathe, drink water. The rest are learned: e.g. if I don t work and earn money I won t survive If you are having difficulty changing a habit it is because the Ku has a conflicting set of beliefs which are stronger than the new belief you re trying to institute e.g. belief from childhood that starving equates to terrible family experiences. result is that one eats a lot and stays overweight so that one will never starve. attempting to lose weight is canceled out by belief that if weight is lost the terrible experiences will return. This is why some people get instant positive results (watch any infomercial) yet others can t seem to achieve those goals no matter what they try: Some don t have strong established beliefs to butt up against. Good news (especially for programmers) is that Ku is a 100% logic executing machine. All of its logic inputs are from its own perspetive, however, not an absolute reality. Understanding why you can t get certain things done is essentially a debugging exercise! How to debug: simple but can take a lifetime: Be clear on what you want to accomplish. Understand all the issues and beliefs that are supporting your current situation. Deeply investigate all the results and experiences you ve had in attempting to change the current condition. Understand the logic behind the decisions and actions. Re-program and/or re-interpret the decisions so as to give the Ku a new logical conclusion. Change will happen as fast as the Ku understands the new way. Could be instant, could take a lifetime. A tightly held belief is not a trivial/simple thing to overcome, as you probably already know. No amount of ritual or energy balls can typically fix this. You might even consider getting professional help. Shrinks are pretty good at Ku kind of stuff and they can help you uncover many underlying beliefs as well as give you advice on reprogramming those beliefs. Follow the principles to make major changes: Ike: become aware of what you want to change. Kala: Understand about all tightly held beliefs you need to let go of. Super imporant: once you identify the beliefs you want to change and/or let go of, you want to become supremely sensitive to the feelings that arise. e.g. when you decide to forgo that extra large plate of spaghetti and your Ku starts feeling scared, recognize that feeling, acknowledge it, and work to let it go. Makia: Focus on the new beliefs that replace the old ones. Manawa: Do it every time you feel old beliefs arising. Aloha: Celebrate the smallest victories! Mana: Maintain a high level of confidence that you will be successful. Failure is not an option! Pono: Recognize whatever success you have made and use it as a snowball effect to help you make larger changes. Review: You are effortlessly manifesting anything you want that is within the range of your current vibrational level. This level can be changed by focusing your intent and changing the underlying beliefs. The degree and speed of change will be directly proportional to the degree of conflict that the new belief has with all of the pre-existing ones. When change is difficult, it means you are going up against strong beliefs. Your quest is about understanding all of the reasons why the Ku is upholding those beliefs and then changing its assumptions about those beliefs. Change will happen in proportion to how successfully you change the assumptions. Closing This is non-trivial stuff. Everyone has strong beliefs they are trying to change. It won t happen quick or easy. You probably already have made all quick and easy changes you can. Never give up. It may be a lifelong quest. The results are worth it, not just for what you changed but more importantly for learning about the process and having the confidence to make even bigger changes in the future. Kala: Let go of the idea that those closest to you need to know about Huna. Don t limit yourself to just your closest loved ones. If you continue your path there will be many, many people that will come to you for help. Makia/Manawa: Focus on your own development. This is all about you, remember? Get your life to advance and improve. If your loved ones are really paying attention, a day will come when they will ask about what you re doing. Aloha: Be happy with your loved ones even if they don t take on Huna as their way. If you take Huna as your own way, you will affect others in a positive way even if they know nothing about Huna. Keep that in your heart. Mana: Focus on your own development. The more you feel the need to share, refocus that effort on the need to grow. Pono: If you improve your life, others will pay attention.
