Watch This: James Franco's Gucci Outtakes

Watch This: James Franco's Gucci Outtakes

from Cinematical on October 27, 2009

As much as I love James Franco (for reasons both personal and professional) I sometimes worry he's going to wear out his welcome with these shorts that keep popping up wherever you look. So far, we've had acting lessons, re-enactments of The Hills, commencement speeches, and even abstract art ... and now we've got Gucci. Over at Funny or Die, they have the latest comedy short which is presented as outtakes from the actor's turn as a spokesmodel for Gucci, and even though you know what to expect from the moment you hit play, that doesn't mean that it won't make you laugh (in my case there was even a little snorting involved). But maybe the genius of Franco is that you can never quite guess what he's going to do next (I mean, I don't think anyone saw the General Hospital stint coming). He's still a movie star after all, though, and his upcoming roles in the Steve Carell and Tina Fey comedy Date Night, along with his portrayal of Beat poet Allan Ginsberg in Howl, guarantees that his comedic and dramatic skills won't be going to waste any time soon. But as this short proves, maybe his most memorable attribute will always be that he's never afraid to make a complete ass of himself -- a lovable quality if there ever was one. After the jump: what Gucci didn't want you to see and another Franco classic....Filed under: Comedy, Fandom, Trailers and ClipsContinue reading Watch This: James Franco's Gucci Outtakes Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

THE HOWLING (1981) - Return to Eddie Quist's cabin (filming location video)

THE HOWLING (1981) - Return to Eddie Quist's cabin (filming location video)

I went visiting the filming locations of the The Howling, a 1981 horror film directed by Joe Dante. Based on the novel of the same name by Gary Brandner, the screenplay is written by John Sayles and Terence H. Winkless. The original music score is composed by Pino Donaggio. Plot : After assisting the police in capturing Eddie Quist (Robert Picardo)., a serial killer who had been preying on the homeless, news anchor Karen White (Dee Wallace-Stone) needs a rest and at her psychiatrist's suggestion heads to The Colony, his own clinic. Her role in capturing Eddie had been quite traumatic and Karen can't picture his face. Once at the clinic however, strange events lead her to believe that her life is in danger. What she does not realize is that the clinic is located near a den of werewolves. The Howling was also notable for its special effects, which were considered to be extremely convincing at the time. The transformation scenes were created by Rob Bottin, who had also worked with Dante on Piranha. Rick Baker was the original effects artist for the film, but left the production to work on the John Landis film An American Werewolf in London, handing over the effects work to Rob Bottin. Bottin's most celebrated effect was the on-screen transformation of Eddie Quist, which involved air bladders under latex facial applications to give the illusion of transformation. The movie was mainly shot in Mendocino, CA. blog: http://ontheset-howling.blogspot.com/ tags:The Howling 1981 Joe Dante Dee Wallace Robert Piccardo Werewolf transformation wolf man lycan lycanthrope american werewolf london howling howl change growl teeth fur claws John Landis scary horror movie
