here is the result of what happens when i witness something beautiful but come home w/footage that cannot do it justice... a month of fiddling & messing w/it until what i saw & what you see line up more closely. this was shot on valentine's day, one of my least favorite holidays ever. but if there was ever a reason to think fondly of the occasion it would be true love and beauty, both of which were overflowing from these two that night. so i, the embittered love cynic, was captivated and entranced and spent all my time working on this in purple (i'm not sure why purple) swirly fairy land. sorry it took a month. now i can send the rough raw footage out to the person who commissioned it in the first place. i hope she's not mad that i a) took so long w/it and b) took liberties w/it. it could not be helped. and let that be a warning to anyone who asks me to videotape their event in the future - artistic license may well be used to take many liberties before i give up the goods.

There was this awesome retreat just miles from LA called Gold Creek Ranch. It was there that some amazing trance parties went down. Then LA Sheriffs came along and shut it down. So much for freedom of expression..... Here is a glimpse of the vibe there....

A night of mayhem.

Two weekends ago, I partied at my favorite house in Mount Pleasant. There was birthday cake inside and hoopers outside. I went outside. Morgan started, shouting "bring it," broke the fourth wall, and encouraged me to pick up a hoop for the first time in a long time. I did. In heels. I handed my camera off when I took a hoop, so all filming credit goes to Cameron Nordholm. I assume all blame for gratuitous hooping. (Film has been edited only for a brief instance of heteronormativity.)

I enjoy hooping.
