SUCCESS! Neal finally got out-of-studio video he's happy with! We shot Brief 217 and 218 on Sauvie Island just outside of Portland. It's one of my favorite places we've been because of all the lush farms. Midwestern farms tend to look washed out when we're driving by on an Interstate. The farms on Sauvie Island, we think because of the lighting created by so much cloud activity, look so healthy and idyllic. It's just a cool place, if you like that kind of thing. This is the first episode from the a new series of interviews where Typeradio travels around the world to meet typefaces and to talk to them. In this episode Helvetica showed up with his old friend Gert Dumbar to the theatre opening of the Tragic Death of Helvetica, organized by students of the Royal academy in the Hague.
