The sight of a dozen hedge fund managers trouncing each other in the ring may be perplexing, but it's also an opportunity to briefly escape the woes of the current global financial crisis. It's all part of an annual charity boxing fight called 'Hedge Fund Fight Nite', now in its second year. The event aims to raise money for 'Operation Smile', a campaign to repair children's facial deformities in lesser developed countries. The night raised about HK$1 million. The 12 contenders, most of whom had little or no boxing experience, trained for a gruelling 5 months before taking to the ring in front of nearly 800 boisterous spectators.
