ROCKOLLECTIONS: ODDS AND ENDS VOLUME 1- PT.1
from WLSO.FM June 03, 2008
After all those Flowers d take a Personal Day. Just grabbed some Odds s and records and brought them in to the station. I said to myself, let s really go free-form and see what happens. I must thank my pal, Mike Hennessy, for the opening song of the day. He sent it to me, I didn t even know it existed, and a perfect fit. Nice pickup Mickster! Then a song specifically for Odds t think he s going to be singing that too much in concert for a while, lol! But I wanted to play something by Paul, so why not a very overlooked one that nobody plays anymore? Probably because it is long, and that upsets radio nowadays- gets in the way of the commercials, and the DJ s mindless chatter. So a multi-tuned cut, a terrific example of McCartney the Prolific Tunesmith- songs tumbling together as if he couldn t contain all the melodies in his head. (And the last in the bunch is my favorite!) Engineer Ken said he hadn t heard it in years, see if the same applies to you. More Odds & Ends to follow- including some NEW music! Mike

FEATURE: Military Contractors and American Healthcare (05nov06ep188)
from Danger Zone Show with Doctor MO November 06, 2007
soundtrack by na_imean globe risk and blackwater USA are both US Military security contractors Since the war in Iraq began, military contractors from the U.S. have been slaughtered by both legislators and the press. And it’s not for bad reason: Private U.S. companies like Haliburton and (most recently) Blackwater have engaged in corruption, wasteful spending, and all-around bad behavior...like killing Iraqi citizens. A whopping 72% of Americans say that they are dissatisfied with how things are going in this country, according to a USA Today/Gallup Poll, only 26% say they are happy with it. Americans spend double what people in other industrialized countries do on health care, but have more trouble seeing doctors, are the victims of more errors and go without treatment more often. The report studied the health care systems of: The U.S., Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. FACT: The United States spent $6,687 per person on health care in 2005 (that’s 16% of GDP.) Every other country spent less than half of that: Australia spent $3,128, for example. Canada spent $3,326. Bush says bin Laden is like Lenin, compares him to Hitler. Washington State lawmaker Richard Curtis resigned his office tonight after a man he allegedly paid for sex spoke to the media about the encounter. Curtis is the third conservative lawmaker in just as many months to resign amid allegations of soliciting gay sex. The severe drought tightening like a vise across the Southeast has threatened the water supply of cities large and small, sending politicians scrambling for solutions. But Orme, about 40 miles west of Chattanooga and 150 miles northwest of Atlanta, is a town where the worst-case scenario has already come to pass: The water has run out. The Army began its recruiting year Oct. 1 with fewer signed up for basic training than in any year since it became an all-volunteer service in 1973. 107 is the number of lives that tropical storm Noel has now claimed in the Caribbean. Brig. Gen. Paul Tibbets, forever immortalized as the guy who flew the Enola Gay and dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima, died yesterday. He was 92. New York uses harsh anti-terrorist laws passed in the weeks after 9/11 to prosecute gang members, saying gangs “terrorize” people through intimidation. State Department personnel under threat of dismissal, are forced to go to Iraq- They call it a “potential death sentence.” PODCAST LINKSSubscribe/ RSSBecome a fanAdd as friendJoin the list Send PodMailView ShoutoutsArchived Shows 206-337-1517doctormo @ podomatic.comListen Online --from blackwater's website...
