Justin Elledge - The Wounded Healer

Justin Elledge - The Wounded Healer

from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on November 20, 2009
Duration: 1605
In 1985 Justin Elledge underwent a minor dental surgery, which should have been nothing more than an inconvenience, which then became a life altering experience. Within days of the surgery his body began to waste away. For the next few years tests were run by physicians, but none could pinpoint the cause of his mysterious illness. During those years of searching for an answer, after allopathic medicine gave up on him, he investigated alternative and traditional therapies.? He studied nursing (LVN License) massage (LMT), reflexology, nutrition, the use of herbs, energy medicine, Hyperbaric Oxygen, H2O2 (peroxide), Bach Flower remedies, homeopathy, energetic frequencies, and most of all the power of prayer. In his travels he has shared many ways to help others. In 2003 on the recommendation of a friend, he attended the Cancer Control Society?s annual event held in Universal City, California. While waiting there to meet his friend, he watched a slide show about the hazards of dentistry that was being presented in the main hall. As he watched, the many symptoms from root canal surgeries play across the scree n, he broke down in tears. Here in black and white was the cause of his long suffering. He had been poisoned by a botulism toxin for nearly 20 years. In 2004 he had his tooth repaired and he began to improve slowly. Spiritual Awakening While at a retreat a friend was lying on the floor in pain, and asked for Justin?s help. Justin agreed to aid him with energy work. As Justin placed his hands above the man?s chest, the ability to see physical health issues manifested instantly. In his mind?s eye, Justin saw a broken rib inside his friend?s chest, which was later proven on X-rays. From that event, people began to contact him locally and from around the world to find solutions to their own health challenges.? Relive his story how he became a Medical Intuitive and how you too can find resurrection and peace right here, right now. His is a story that will inspire you as well show you how to manifest divine changes in your life!

Nurturing Touch through Somatic Inquiry

Nurturing Touch through Somatic Inquiry

from me on blip.tv (beta) on April 06, 2007
Duration: 213
Somatic Inquiry is an emerging modality that is based upon a tradition of contact improv and nuture dance, and includes the physical and emotional body. Through quieting the whole system, one is able to listen internally and allow a space for internal impulse to be expressed through movement. These practices create a safe space for healing movement, touch and authentic expression. Janice Sandeen and Christina Decossio are both bodyworkers who teach classes in Somatic inquiry. Gwen Bell brings up an interesting question of whether there are distinctly different masculine and feminine approaches to spiritual practice. She suggests that women are often not as responsive to the solitary sitting practices of Buddhism as men. I wonder if Somatic Inquiry's emphasis on interconnection and embodiment could be considered an example of a more feminine approach to spiritual practice. These are some additional links about somatic healing. http://www.home.earthlink.net/~luminousground/ http://nurturedance.org/nurturedance.htm http://movingoncenter.org/ http://bodytales.com/ This is our fifth post for Videoblogging Week 2007. We met Dr. Ann Haiden, DO at Cook Camp in San Francisco. Ann's training is similar to an MD but with extra training in musculoskeletal issues and manipulation. She approaches health by addressing the root causes of problems with an emphasis on nutrition and self-care. In this vlog she describes a sensible progressive approach to medicine. Integrative medicine combines the use of mainstream medicine with complementary alternative approaches. Dr. Ann Haiden has a private practice in Kentfield, CA. Cultivating Energy with Qi Gong

Cultivating Energy with Qi Gong

from me on blip.tv (beta) on April 02, 2007
Duration: 195
I've been practicing Qi Gong for the past three years and I've found that these simple movements have had a profound impact on my health and well-being. Qi Gong affects the body's flow of energy and comes from the Taoist and Buddhist traditions, Chinese Medicine and Martial Arts practice. Chinese Medicine holds a reverence for the spiritual interconnection of all life and bases its approach to health and well-being on a holisitic understanding of the body. It tries to develop balance through preventive care and living in accord with the cycles of nature. Qi gong practice consists of cultivating chi (vital energy) by coordinating breathing patterns with physical postures and motions that integrate the upper and lower body. This practice breaks down energetic blocks to the free flow of chi throughout the body. I'm currently taking a class in Chinese Medicine to better understand these profound ancient healing practices. If you're interested in learning more about chinese medicine the book for the class is called "Between Heaven and Earth." Mark Mckenna teaches QiGong on Tuesday mornings at the Circle Center in Fairfax, CA. His teacher is Fongha of the Integral Ch'aun Institute. This is our first post for Videoblogging Week 2007. Mind Body Health

Mind Body Health

from me on blip.tv (beta) on May 06, 2006
Duration: 115
I've been working on a research study for the last year about Mind-Body health treatments. There are limitations to what Western bio-medicine can do, and Eastern approaches to staying healthy that are becoming more and more popular. In this video, Mind-Body research pioneer and integrative medicine advocate, Marilyn Schlitz asks, "What does it mean to be a healthy individual in a sick society?" She talks about the physical, psychological and whole system healing that needs to happen in order for individuals to become more healthy. Kent and I went to this conference on Consciousness and Healing for our honeymoon last year, and did a number of other interviews there as well.We used a lot of Creative Commons material for this piece.Photos: premshree, rob20, schizoform, johnnydriftwood, ch, sis, monkeyc, firewall, monkeyc, seandreilinger, jeffc5000, thepotato, jaspoid, hughes leglise, psd, quiplash, 74281168@N00, mrbling, jurvetson, ebb9, omaromar, basykes, barry b, michannephotos, imtboo, editor, fuzzhead, indiema, milopeng, milopeng, welvistarn, nalick, niallkennedy, yhassy, milopeng, milopeng, milopeng, milopeng, milopengSounds: LG, Stomp, RookieeMusic: "On The Moon (Trip Hop mix)" by disharmonic, "drummation" by Hallucigen & "In The Sky" by disharmonicInterview with Marilyn Schlitz: Echo Chamber Project
