From : YouTube :: Tag // ComputerGraphics
In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows. High Dynamic Range Imaging was originally developed in the 1930s and 1940s by Charles Wyckoff. Wyckoff's detailed pictures of nuclear explosions appeared on the cover of Life magazine in the mid 1940s. The process of tone mapping together with bracketed exposures of normal digital images, giving the end result a high, often exaggerated dynamic range, was first reported in 1993[1], and resulted in a mathematical theory of differently exposed pictures of the same subject matter that was published in 1995[2]. In 1997 this technique of combining several differently exposed images to produce a single HDR image was presented to the computer graphics community by Paul Debevec. This method was developed to produce a high dynamic range image from a set of photographs taken with a range of exposures. With the rising popularity of digital cameras and easy-to-use desktop software, the term HDR is now popularly used[3] to refer to this process. This composite technique is different from (and may be of lesser or greater quality than) the production of an image from a single exposure of a sensor that has a native high dynamic range. Tone mapping is also used to display HDR images on devices with a low native dynamic range, such as a computer screen. From : O'Reilly Media, Inc.
Think nothing can scare you? Enter dekePod, that thing that is not even slightly scary and yet, be honest, gives you the heebie jeebies. In this episode, Deke investigates how to simulate an extreme-detail HDR portrait -- which would otherwise require you to shoot multiple exposures of a person locked down in a body brace -- using flimflam and forgery. And a shrunken skull. These are the depths of scariness we go to. Here at dekePod.Get more dekePod here.

It was a glorious moment because mother nature was behaving, unlike the last 2 early morning efforts where I was too fogged in. I was also shooting with my new Nikon D700 and a new 14-24mm ultrawide which is just a great combo since the D700 is a full frame camera! Music is RJD2's remix of Astrud Gilberto's, Gentle Rain. From : YouTube :: Videos by festerius2008
Well, I took the LCD screen apart and put it back together on my Sony HDR HC1. I can now use the touch sensitive LCD screen to change settings (it was completely unresponsive)! This means that I am able to download video to my computer from my camera using the IEEE 1394/Firewire cable and thus my videos are at full 1080i resolution. For nearly a month I've had to use an RCA cable to connect my camera to my Dazzle DVC150 and I could only download the video using Pinnacle Studio 9 at 480i resolution. The downside is I can no longer look through the view finder and the LCD screen only works when it is flush against the camera and the display is upside down! Oh well... It MOSTLY works, now. This video is unedited 119 MB @ 720x480 avi format. Author: Festerius2008 Keywords: festerius 2008 vlog blog sony hdr hc1 Added: September 4, 2008

 From : Metacafe - Today's Videos by Metacafe
In this episode of Kurt’s Photoshop Tips & Tutorials, we are going to go over the process of creating an HDR image using the tools available in Photoshop, and then we are going to go back and create an HDR image with the Photomatix Photoshop plug-in. If you are unfamiliar with HDR images, they are creating by combining images of a scene that were taken using different exposures. From : YouTube :: Videos by xFu510nx
When I was searching for an HD video camera to purchase, I kept coming back to the Sony AVCHD brand. I had good luck with using one of their still cameras before and had decided it was time for an upgrade. I spent several months researching the different types of cameras that I could use. The one difficulty that I had when doing this research though, was the need to know what video quality a Sony AVCHD video camera would offer. After scouring the internet I ended up with nothing. But I took a leap of faith and purchased a HDR-UX1 model from their AVCHD lineup. It ended up being a very good camera. =) In my desire to fix what has gone wrong before I have decided to create several (18 to be precise), test videos with my new camera. By doing this, you will hopefully be able to see the quality that an HD camera can offer. All of the video links and descriptions will be available at http://whoismatt.com. Also, I will upload two streaming 720p versions to vimeo which you can find at http://www.vimeo.com/hdquality. Having all of this information is what I would have wanted when I was buying an HD camera.
