Manyari was still alone this morning and hunting this rare Lichtenstein's Hartebeest. After a while she gave up heading south to drink at Hwata pan. Not having eaten for a week, at least it's something to fill her empty stomach. I left her resting up to the south of the pan. Lichtenstein's hartebeest occur in small groups of up to 10 individuals led by a single dominant male. Unlike most other animals they drink until they've had their fill, other animals drink and stop, drink and stop always on the look out for danger. These weird looking animals have a beauty and finesse all of their own.
