Custom Harp Kit

Custom Harp Kit

This is a Marine Band in Bb, that I'm currently working on for myself. So far I have sanded and sealed the comb, drilled it out and reassembled it with screws. I have also spent some time on the arcing and gapping of the reeds and also embossed the reed slots. It still needs a little more work on it yet to get it to my liking, but it's coming along nicely so far. It's also the first harp I have ever been able to play tongue blocked overblows on.

Irish folk tune played on a G harmonica. Written relatively recently by Dublin accordian player Tommy Walsh, this tune was composed after Walsh returned from a holiday on Inisheer, the smallest and most eastern of the Aran Islands situated in Galway Bay off the west coast of Ireland. Walsh described the holiday as the best of his life and wrote the tune on his return to Dublin whilst walking in Phoenix Park dreaming of what he had left behind and the peace and tranquility of the Island.

Ronnie was asked to play something by one of the attendees of a Harmonica Workshop and this is the result of the request. He knows how to play with great expression and proves it here on only 2 hours sleep after conducting a 2.5 hour workshop. It was worth much more than the price of admission just to hear him play like this!!! He is playing an Ab harp in this video with no amplification.
