It's about how it came to pass that dozens of meetings were held in the White House to decide the most effective ways to torture War On Terror prisoners. Low level operatives sneaking in a meeting at, could it really be, the White House? About an illegal subject? But before you can find out more, you leave that scene and enter a long series of flashbacks, which show how this maybe-in-the-White-House cabal came to meet... You first see a bunch of right-wingers of the neocon variety openly plotting for US world domination. Liz Trotta at Fox News Makes a joke about murdering Senator Barack Obama. Dr. Boyce Watkins responds to the latest attack by Bill OReilly from Fox News show, The O'Reilly Factor. This is the second time in 6 months that Bill O'Reilly and Juan Williams have attacked Watkins. But Dr. Watkins always wins. Last fall, Watkins referred to Juan Williams, Bill O'Reilly's black sidekick as "the eternal happy negro". This led to Bill O'Reilly and Juan Williams spending weeks expressing anger toward Watkins. Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives are equally angry. Dr. Watkins is a regular guest on CNN, FOX News, BET, CBS, ESPN, and other national media. He was the source of some controversy with Bill O'Reilly from the O'Reilly Factor, and has been a guest on other Fox Shows such as Hannity & Colmes. He has also publicly disputed Bill Cosby for stating that african-american youth and the hip hop generation are not very productive. Watkins wrote "What if George Bush were a Black Man?" and "Everything you ever wanted to know about college", which he argues is an appeal to the MTV generation to look past 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, TI, Kanye West and others to explore their educational potential. Dr. Boyce is a Finance Professor at Syracuse University and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He recently spoke at The University of Kentucky and demanded that they increase their numbers of black students and faculty. He was also one of the instrumental black leaders behind the scenes during the cases with the Jena 6, Don Imus and Michael Vick. He worked closely with Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson, appearing on the air with them to suggest strategies to get Imus off the air. It was Dr. Watkins' idea to challenge his corporate sponsors that led to Imus' dismissal. He was also outspoken on Barry Bonds' situation and the OJ Simpson trial. Watkins argues that Barry Bonds might be a jerk, but his alleged indiscretion is no worse than the evidence against Lance Armstrong for the use of performance enhancing drugs. The 32,000-square-foot soundstage the production is renting across town stands empty, waiting for the Oval Office and Cabinet Room sets to get trucked in from Los Angeles. The screenplay still needs work too. It's gone through two rewrites since an earlier draft leaked to the press last month (some skeptics took it as an April Fools' joke), but Stone would still like one more pass at it (''It's evolving,'' he says). And while most of the cast has been assembled and outfitted with prosthetic noses and hairpieces — Josh Brolin will play President George W. Bush and Elizabeth Banks will star as Laura — there is one major character still in search of an actor: a heavy named Dick Cheney. Stone is famous for courting controversy with dramas like JFK (1991) and Nixon (1995). But with W, the 61-year-old filmmaker isn't merely courting it — he's grabbing controversy by the lapels and giving it a big wet smacker. For the first time, he's turning his cameras not just on a living president but on one who'll still be knocking around the White House when the movie premieres late this year. As if that weren't provocative enough, Stone could end up releasing the film as early as October, at the height of a presidential campaign in which one of the major issues will undoubtedly be the legacy of the guy on the screen. The movie has become a lightning rod before Stone has shot a single frame. Right wing ideology has led to big problems, and offers no solutions. So far, 81 deaths in the United States have been linked to fatal allergic reactions to contaminated batches of the blood thinner heparin. Several hundred more patients have had severe adverse reactions to the drug. Right-wing ideology, which wholesale opposes government regulation of business, stands in the way of a solution. Indeed, the Bush administration has been systematically taking apart the Food and Drug Administration, not strengthening it. Also: --You'll hear about some unbelievable ideology-driven behavior from another head of a Bush agency. The Senate wanted to give the Consumer Product Safety Commission more money and authority. But guess what? The head of the agency objected! --I blow apart the right-wing myth about the establishment of federal regulatory agencies. Look behind the story of the creation of virtually any government regulatory body, and you'll find the same thing: a crucial, urgent need that only government action could meet. Ever heard of Upton Sinclair's book The Jungle? --I undertake maybe a mission impossible: trying to get inside the right-winger head about all this. Remember Jim Jones, who told his followers to drink the poisonous Kool-Aid, and they did? They had a religious belief in Jones, and would blindly obey his every dictate. I guess that's what it is with these right-wingers. Their right wing ideology must be followed no matter what, like a fundamentalist religion. No matter the consequences to self and others. Go ahead, kill my pet, kill my kid, even kill me - but don't let the evil government be involved, because that would be -- against my religious belief in small, ineffective, do-nothing government! I think right-wingers can aptly be called, Jim Jones conservatives.
