THE DEFENSIVE END HAS BEEN TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF ENDING HIS PLAYING DAYS FOR SOME TIME. IT LOOKED AS THOUGH HE HAD RETIRED LAST YEAR AFTER MISSING ALL OF TRAINING CAMP. BUT ON THE THRESH HOLD OF ANOTHER SEASON, STRAHAN DECIDED TO PUT ON THE PADS AGAIN. HE HELPED THE GIANTS STAGE A LATE SEASON PUSH AND WAS PART OF A PASS RUSH THAT HOUNDED THE PATRIOTS TOM BRADY THROUGHOUT THE SUPER BOWL UPSET. BRADY IS JUST ONE OF MANY NFL QUARTERBACKS WHO FELT THE STRAHAN PRESSURE. THE SEVEN TIME PRO BOWL SELECTION WAS THE ACTIVE SACKS LEADER WITH 141 AND A HALF, WHICH RANKS FIFTH BEST IN LEAGUE HISTORY. HIS MOST INFAMOUS MAY HAVE COME IN THE LAST GAME OF THE 2001 SEASON WHEN GREEN BAY QUARTERBACK BRENT FAVRE WENT TO THE GROUND AND STRAHAN COVERED HIM TO BREAK MARK GASTINEAU'S SINGLE SEASON SACK RECORD.
