London says goodbye as we emigrate. Of the 200 or so films that I've made with my phone in the last year, I think this is the one I like the most. We went on our favorite London walk for the last time yesterday - along the River Thames at Hammersmith. In two and a half weeks, we're moving to Canada. I started shooting a plane in the clouds, thinking about making a film about us leaving, and suddenly something magical happened... ...and kept on happening! Instead of fading, they got brighter and more intense! In mythology, religion, art, literature, music and film, the Rainbow is a powerful symbol, a sign of hope and life and new beginnings. Shot and edited with my Nokia N93 phone. I hope this rainbow brightens people's days all over the world. I grew up in Christian boarding schools, so usually the first thing I think of when I see a rainbow is the rainbow that God sends Noah after the great flood in Genesis: And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. So to the bit Gabi has been waiting for - buying clothes! It is going to be extremely cold up in the mountains and we will be stationary for long periods of time, so we need the right clothes - very warm but breathable so that our skin doesn''t bloat and peel and go nasty like a nasty thing! So to a few hours at TK Maxx and Primark! ------ I am making a feature film - entirely on my own - and my girlfriend is filming me doing it. I am the actor, the editor, the set designer, the director, the colourist, the best-boy and the gaffer - in fact I am every role in the entire credits list. A successful feature film has never been made by a lone person, so please support me in making cinematic history by watching me and sending me comments and encouragement.  Hammersmith Bridge

Filmed 19 February 2008 Hammersmith Bridge is a suspension bridge which is more than 100 years old, spanning the River Thames linking Hammersmith to Barnes. The main structure is built of wrought iron and is 700ft long and 43ft wide. This episode takes you on a short journey from Hammersmith Bridge along the north shore of a bend in the River Thames, taking in boat communities, rowing teams, and life on the water. The bridge has had a dramatic life from buckling under the weight of heavy traffic to being subject to terrorist bombing. The fact that it survives and remains open today is testament to the love of the local community who have rallied to support it. The current suspension bridge was designed by noted civil engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette and rests on the same pier foundations constructed for an older bridge designed by Tierney Clark. It was opened by the Prince of Wales on 11 June 1887.
