You are the servant, and You are the Lord and Master of all. My Dear Lord and Master, my Friend, speaks so sweetly. ਹਉ ਸੰਮਲਿ ਥਕੀ ਜੀ ਓਹੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੋਲੈ ਕਉਰਾ ॥ Ha­o sammal thakī jī oh kaḏė na bolai ka­urā. I have grown weary of testing Him, but still, He never speaks harshly to me. ਕਉੜਾ ਬੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਵਾਨੈ ਅਉਗਣੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥ Ka­uṛā bol na jānai pūran bẖagvānai a­ugaṇ ko na cẖiṯārė. He does not know any bitter words; the Perfect Lord God does not even consider my faults and demerits. ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਦਾਏ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਨੈ ਘਾਲੇ ॥ Paṯiṯ pāvan har biraḏ saḏā­ė ik ṯil nahī bẖannai gẖālė. It is the Lord's natural way to purify sinners; He does not overlook even an iota of service. ਘਟ ਘਟ ਵਾਸੀ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਨੇਰੈ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ Gẖat gẖat vāsī sarab nivāsī nėrai hī ṯė nėrā. The Restorer of what was taken away, the Liberator from captivity; the Formless Lord, the Destroyer of pain. ਕਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਲੋਭੀ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ॥ Karam na jāṇā ḏẖaram na jāṇā lobẖī mā­i­āḏẖārī. I do not know about karma and good deeds; I do not know about Dharma and righteous living. I am so greedy, chasing after Maya. ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਭਗਤੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਇਹ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ Nām pari­o bẖagaṯ govinḏ kā ih rākẖo paij ṯumārī. ||1|| I go by the name of God's devotee; please, save this honor of Yours. ||1|| ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਤੂ ਮਾਣੁ ॥ Har jī­o nimāṇi­ā ṯū māṇ. O Dear Lord, You are the honor of the dishonored. ਨਿਚੀਜਿਆ ਚੀਜ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Nicẖīji­ā cẖīj karė mėrā govinḏ ṯėrī kuḏraṯ ka­o kurbāṇ. Rahā­o. You make the unworthy ones worthy, O my Lord of the Universe; I am a sacrifice to Your almighty creative power. ||Pause|| ਜੈਸਾ ਬਾਲਕੁ ਭਾਇ ਸੁਭਾਈ ਲਖ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ Jaisā bālak bẖā­ė subẖā­ī lakẖ aprāḏẖ kamāvai. Like the child, innocently making thousands of mistakes - ਕਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਝਿੜਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਵੈ ॥ Kar upḏės jẖiṛkė baho bẖāṯī bahuṛ piṯā gal lāvai. his father teaches him, and scolds him so many times, but still, he hugs him close in his embrace. ਪਿਛਲੇ ਅਉਗੁਣ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਗੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ Picẖẖlė a­oguṇ bakẖas la­ė parabẖ āgai mārag pāvai. ||2|| Please forgive my past actions, God, and place me on Your path for the future. ||2|| ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਈਐ ॥ Har anṯarjāmī sabẖ biḏẖ jāṇai ṯā kis peh ākẖ suṇā­ī­ai. The Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows all about my state of mind; so who else should I go to and speak to? ਕਹਣੈ ਕਥਨਿ ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈਐ ॥ Kahṇai kathan na bẖījai gobinḏ har bẖāvai paij rakẖā­ī­ai. The Lord, the Lord of the Universe, is not pleased by mere recitation of words; if it is pleasing to His Will, He preserves our honor. ਅਵਰ ਓਟ ਮੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਦੇਖੀ ਇਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਰਹਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ Avar ot mai saglī ḏėkẖī ik ṯėrī ot rahā­ī­ai. ||3|| I have seen all other shelters, but Yours alone remains for me. ||3|| ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਣੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ॥ Ho­ė ḏa­i­āl kirpāl parabẖ ṯẖākur āpė suṇai bėnanṯī. Becoming kind and compassionate, God the Lord and Master Himself listens to my prayer. ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਚੂਕੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਤੀ ॥ Pūrā saṯgur mėl milāvai sabẖ cẖūkai man kī cẖinṯī. Remembering Him in meditation, a profound peace is obtained. Pain and suffering will not touch you at all. ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥ Saḏā saḏā kar cẖākrī parabẖ sāhib sacẖā so­ė. ||2|| Forever and ever, work for God; He is our True Lord and Master. ||2|| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥ Sāḏẖsangaṯ ho­ė nirmalā katī­ai jam kī fās. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall become absolutely pure, and the noose of death shall be cut away. ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ Sukẖ­ḏāṯa bẖai bẖanjno ṯis āgai kar arḏās.
