Worst Case ScenarioWorst Case Scenario

nuptialstv.com If you are having a wedding during a time of the year with unpredictable weather, make sure you plan ahead for the worst case scenario. Rent a tent for your wedding site if you are having an outdoor wedding, or arrange to have a backup location for the ceremony or reception at a different, indoor site. And make sure your guests are informed about the possibility of a backup site... it is appropriate, and will be appreciated, to include in case of bad weather information on your invitations, and some couples even include a seperate rain card enclosed in their invitation packet which gives detailed information and instructions to your wedding guests for what to do if it starts to rain or snow. And don't stress out about it... many people consider rain on a wedding day a good omen for the marriage, so just be optimistic and think of it as good luck if it happens.

nuptialstv.com Sometimes you and a friend might be planning your wedding at the same time and have a similar guest list that might create a bit of a competitive situation... so what do you do you are both giving the same wedding favors? Well, you have a few options. If you really feel like it will be tacky to give the same favors as your friend, then just pick something else. But if the favors you chose for your guests are meaningful to you, you can still try and talk to your friend and see if they will relent on the issue. And if your friend won't give in, just say screw it. Give the same favors as your friend, and be done with it. Your friends really won't care that much if they end up with two silver picture frames from two different weddings... they just want to see that you have a happy day.
Wedding Rehearsal DinnerWedding Rehearsal Dinner

nuptialstv.com When figuring out who to invite to your rehearsal dinner, some couples opt to invite everyone who has come from out of town for the wedding. But this is not strictly necesarry if you are trying to save money for the big day itself. The necessary people at the rehearsal dinner are the couple about to be married, their their immediate family, their officiant and the officiant's spouse, and the members of your wedding party. It's a rehearsal for the wedding, so you can make it a small event if you want... but if you can afford to, invite all your out of town guests and start your wedding celebration a night early. It's up to you... it's your wedding, after all.

nuptialstv.com We've been talking about hot trends in wedding invitations, and with increasing fears about global warming, habitat destruction, and dwindling natural resource supplies, more and more betrothed couples are thinking green when planning their weddings, starting with their invitations. One easy way to start thinking green is to choose invitations made from recycled paper. Don't groan... you can still find plenty of gorgeous recycled papers that will not diminish the elegance of your invite materials. Using recycled paper can save trees, water, and oil, while cutting down on pollutants... plus your guests will love your for being nice to mother nature. You can find some surprisingly beautiful invitations at WomenCraft.Net, where 100 percent recycled invitations are crafted by women trying to work out of homelessness and other difficulties. And if you really don't like recycled paper, you can always go with invitations printed on an alternate fiber, like bamboo, or for the hippies out there, hemp. And try and cut down on the paper clutter in your invite materials... print all your info on one card instead of multiple cards, or direct your guests to a wedding website that will answer....

nuptialstv.com We're talking about the hottest trends in wedding invitations, and to really make your invites stand out, you've got to think about everything... even the belly band that binds your invitations, reply cards, and maps together. A bellyband takes the place of an inner envelope, and even this utilitarian part of your invite set can add style to your presentation. A classy and traditional approach to the belly band is a rich velvet strip with an antique brooch as a flourish. Or choose a binding that will give your guests a clue to the wedding's theme... if you are going for a country style wedding, use twine or ribbon interwoven with a sprig of thistle, creating a lasso effect. Or use palm tree leaves to give your guests an early taste of your upcoming tropical wedding. Just make sure the bellyband strikes a nice balance with the rest of your invite materials... if the invitations are busy, keep the bellyband simple, but if you have very simple invitations, go a little crazier with the bellyband. It's all about striking a harmonic balance in your wedding invitation, the first step towards striking a harmonic balance on your wedding day... and in your marriage.

nuptialstv.com We've been looking at hot trends in wedding invitations, and one of the hottest and most personal things you can do is to use a unique material to print your wedding invite on. Why stick with traditional card stock when you can try to imprint your invites on wood, engrave your wedding info on acrylic, or even print out the invite over photos of you and your groom to be. And it doesn't have to stop with the invite material either... other unique materials that you include in the invitation packages can really communicate who you are as a couple as well. Instead of ribbon binding your materials together, use shoelaces if you are an athletic couple, leather bindings if you met at a biker bar, or guitar strings if you are a music loving couple. And if you are an environmentally conscious couple, print your invites on recycled materials that will save trees from being chopped down in the name of your wedding. Be careful when choosing a unique material for your invitation packages though, as the cost can add up. One great suggestion to keep the cost down while still printing on unique materials is to print your resply cards and maps on standard paper or card stock while saving...........

nuptialstv.com We're talking about hot trends in wedding invitations, and one of the hottest colors to use right now is an elegant chocolate brown. The netrual shade can work well as a grounding tone, and it has led many couples to choose chocolate brown as a border or background color. It will look great in contrast with brighter colors you might want to use on your invitation, which might pop out a little too much without the chocolate brown to tone it down and ground it. And many people are even using Chocolate Brown as an alternative to black for their font color on their invitations, reply cards, and maps. It's a great color that is gaining in popularity because it just looks good with almost every other color, from subtle and classy chartreuse (shar-toose) to bright and popping candy apple red. And some couples have even started printing their invitations on chocolate brown paper, which is perfect because whatever color font you choose will look good on it. Just make sure you pick nice chocolate brown card stock when you go shopping for the invitations and you will surpise your guests with your tasteful yet unique choice.

nuptialstv.com We've been counting down some hot trends and invitations, and looking at new ideas from innovative wedding planners who are rethinking everything, down to even the envelope. When you stressing yourself out planning for your wedding, one of the most frustrating things your invited guests can do is to not send their reply cards, leaving you wondering about how accurate your head count for your reception actually is. And a common excuse is that your invited friends and family lost their response card. Well, you can eliminate this problem easily with a new trend in wedding invitations that is growing in popularity. Make your wedding invitation and reply card as one piece of stationary instead of two separate pieces, with a perforated line making it easy for your guests to tear off and send their reply card. This will make your invite extremely unique as well as practical, and will make it much harder for your guests to claim they lost their reply card. Make sure the design of the invitation does not cover the perforated line though... if it does, your guests might not be able to figure out how it works. And make sure the card stock you choose is heavy enough to tear easily along.....

nuptialstv.com We're talking about hot wedding invitation trends, and nothing will make your invite pop out more then by adding a third dimension to a usually flat medium. Including flowers, charm bracelets, shells, leaves, pearls, feathers, or any other object that is special to you and your future spouse will make your invitation more unique. Bind a single rose matching the type your fianc e gave you on your first date along with your invitation, reply card, and map, or add some glitz to the invitation by creating a border made up of beads, jewels, or rhinestones... fake ones for those with normal budgets, and real ones for those couples who really just want to show off. Make sure you don't do too much when adding a bit of dimension to your invitation packages... you don't want to distract from the actual information inside the envelope. But adding extra, three dimensional flourishes to compliment the usual invitation can really help them pop out... and add a personal touch that will give your guests a little taste of you and your fianc es personalities. Plus, everyone likes a nice surprise when they open a package!

We're talking about the latest trends in wedding invitations, and one of the newest ideas that soon to be wed couples are doing is to send their invitations in boxes instead of envelopes. More and more couples are neatly packing their invitations, reply cards, maps, into stylish little silk boxes that can create a real impression when your guests receive them, and will also allow you to lick less envelopes. You can pick the color of your box, and even include something more in the packages that says something about you and your wedding theme. If silk boxes sound too expensive, you can also try cheaper paper boxes to pack your wedding invites into. But remember, using boxes instead of envelopes will cost you more in terms of shipping costs, and be careful when choosing your silk or paper box... the bigger the package, the more expensive it will be to ship. This is a really classy idea that will make your invitations memorable, but it's not the cheapest option, so it's probably better suited for you only if you're having a smaller wedding... or if you have money to burn.

nuptialstv.com So how do you make sure your guests know your wedding is going to be a formal and classy affair with your wedding invitations? One of the best ways to imply formality and classiness is to go with the classic wedding invitation style of white or ivory invitations with black engraving on them. The traditional look will help communicate that your wedding is a black tie event. But there are so many styles of wedding invitations these days, you don't need to stick so closely to the traditional black on white or ivory look if you don't want to... this is your wedding, and you can make it your own. Pick whatever color and style you like, because it's just as important to communicate who you are as a couple as it is to make a classy and formal statement, and communicating that starts with your invitations. So if you want traditional and classy, go with the classic look, but if you want something that is more you, then go with whatever you think looks good... but be warned, it's going to be hard to convince your guests that you are having a formal black tie wedding if your invites are hot pink with green lettering. But picking something personal is always the best choice for any............

nuptials.com So you want your reception to be a more formal, adult oriented 18 and over event, and you’re wondering how to inform your guests of this. Many of your friends and family will be eager to have an adult oriented night off from their kids, but you need to make sure they are informed in a classy way that doesn’t feel exclusive. It’s NOT a good idea to put “Adults Only” on the actual invitations… because that comes off as a bit too blunt, and you want a more subtle and graceful way of informing your guests. The first thing to do is to make sure the invitations are addressed just to the people you are inviting… if you are inviting a couple, address the envelope as “Mr. and Mrs. So and So.” Most people will take this as a cue that their kids are not invited, but if their RSVP is returned with their kids included, call them up and inform them of the situation. Most people will not argue, but for those who give you a hard time, do not back down and let them bring their kids… this will only make other parents who got a sitter for your reception feel resentful that they weren’t allowed to bring their kids. And remember, it’s your wedding day… you get to invite who you want, so don’t let anybo Ranked 0.0 / 5 | 1 views | 0 comments Click here to watch the video Submitted By: nuptialstv Tags: Bridal Bride Counseling Engagement Groom Husband Invitation Marriage Planning Relationships Wedding Categories: Entertainment
Destination Wedding - Throwing A 2nd ReceptionDestination Wedding - Throwing A 2nd Reception
from Metacafe - How To Videos by Metacafe
July 01, 2008

nuptialstv.com So you’ve decided to have your dream wedding in Hawaii or Europe or some other location that will require your guests to fly many miles from home to join you. How do you deal with your friends who want to come but can’t make it, and what do you say in the invitation? One great idea that many people who have destination weddings is to throw a second reception when you return from your honeymoon so that all your friends who couldn’t afford or didn’t have the time to travel to the wedding get a chance to celebrate with you. And while usual etiquette dictates that you should send invitations only to the guests who can make it to your destination wedding, then send separate invitations to those who will only make it to the second reception, this can lead to some hurt feelings for those who will feel excluded from the wedding… and you might accidentally miss out on inviting someone who can make it to your beautiful destination wedding after all. So the best thing is to do is to invite everyone you want at your wedding, and make sure to include information about the second, local reception for those who can’t make your destination wedding. This is the best way to avoid hurt feelings… and Ranked 0.0 / 5 | 0 views | 0 comments Click here to watch the video Submitted By: nuptialstv Tags: Bridal Bride Counseling Engagement Groom Husband Invitation Marriage Planning Relationships Wedding Categories: Entertainment
Is It Bad To Ask For Money As A Gift From Your Guests? Is It Bad To Ask For Money As A Gift From Your Guests?

July 01, 2008

nuptialstv.com So you already have all the typical household items that people tend to give newlyweds, your wedding tab is getting expensive, and you’re not sure how you will pay for the honeymoon you have been planning. All you really want as gifts is cold, hard cash. How do you tell your guests that you want money instead of a juicer? Well, one thing you should never do is put it in the invitation… that’s just tacky. And you’re going to have to accept that some of your guests will want to buy you something specific, mostly because it feels more personal to them. So make sure to register for at least a few items… I mean, you can’t actually have everything you need, right? You can also register for specific things on your honeymoon… if you wanted to take a trip to the volcanoes in Hawaii or go skydiving in Europe, you can have these specific adventures as part of your registry and have your guests pay for them. And it’s okay to just tell your wedding party, your family, and anyone who asks that cash is what you really want as a gift… hopefully, this information will quickly spread to everyone you haven’t told, and you’ll get a nice pile of cash on your wedding day.
