Manfred Radius Salto Sailplane 2008 NAS Oceana Airshow NAS Oceana, Virginia Sunday September 21, 2008 IN THIS VIDEO, watch as Manfred Radius flies his performance in the Salto Sailplane. About two-thirds of his performance was virtually unseen from the ground, as there was a 1,500 foot scud layer that obscured his performance. Running along the ridge of mt Palomar mountain "ridge soaring" - this puts roller coasters in a whole new perspective. Ridge running is based on the wind and lift coming off the top of the ridge.
