Stalkers to red-heads, more Star Wars battles and a new legal precedent. Courtroom drama is up next. Hi everyone. Welcome to Get-the-Daily-dot-com. I m Dana Ward with the latest in the legal system. Ever imagine that a priest might stalk a celebrity? Well, one Boston priest did just this. On Tuesday, Reverend David Ajemian pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct involving late-night talkshow-host, Conan O Brien. Ajemian admitted to sending D-V-Ds and letters to O Brien s home and work, starting back in late 2006. The Boston Archdiocese placed the man on leave, after police arrested him for trying to enter a New-York taping of Conan s show. Ajemian is ruled fit to withstand trial, although he claims to have psychiatric issues. And it seems there s a new battle for the Star Wars saga, and the Stormtrooper helmet is at the center of it all. Most recently, the prop designer from the first Star Wars back in 1977 is suing Lucasfilm, claiming he owns the copyright to the famous white helmet, and actually requests a share of the merchandising profit from the 6 Star Wars films 24-million-US-dollars, to be exact. This comes as a counter-attack suit, as Lucasfilm already won a 20-million-dollar California lawsuit in 2006 against Andrew Ainsworth. Lucasfilm seeks to have the original judgment upheld in the U-K. The movie company claims that George Lucas and his artistic team designed the helmet and Ainsworth simply molded the design. Ainsworth has been selling Stormtrooper helmet replicas on his website for a few thousand U-S dollars for years. And a humorous change to the legal system. Send out the studied attorneys and bring in the stand-up comedians. These days, legal clients are being represented by funny-guys on a new Direct-T-V courtroom drama. On the Supreme Court of Comedy, real-life small claims disputes are brought to justice with the help of celeb comics, including Sinbad, Tom Arnold, Paul Rodriguez and more. You can find Dom Irrera as the judge presiding over each case, shot at L-A s famous Laugh Factory. That s your legal news for now. From Get-the-Daily-dot-com, I m Dana Ward. Be sure to watch tomorrow for more news.

Hey guys! At Get-the-Daily-dot-com, I'm Dana Ward counting down the Top 5 at the box-office! Barely holding at number 5 is Leatherheads. Clooney and Zellweger play-up this football period piece and helped the film bring in 6-point-2-million dollars over the weekend. Another movie dropping from its previous box office position, it s Nim s Island, featuring a talented Jody Foster and that cute kid from Little Miss Sunshine. The fantastical flick filled with mysterious island adventures brought in an even 9-million. And at number three dropping from its number-1 position last weekend it s 21. These M-I-T kids who hit up Vegas to count cards leave room for... Number 2. Bringing in 12-million-bucks in its first weekend at the box office is Street Kings. You can catch Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker getting down and dirty in this cop action drama. They re both on the L-A-P-D and one of them is accused of being involved in a fellow copper s execution. But who s good and who s bad at this police department? You ll have to check-out this one to see where the loyalties lie on the inside. And stealing the spotlight by a long shot at number one, we ve got Prom Night. It s an intense thriller with Britney Snow s character just wanting to be the belle of the ball and dance the night away with her high-school friends. That is, until it s all interrupted by a psycho killer from her past. It s a prom night nightmare, and it definitely has some serious jump-out freaky moments. This one stepped out in its debut weekend bringing in an impressive, 22-point-7-million dollars. Check back next week for the latest box-office results. I m Dana Ward. The NBA MVP race heats up and Kansas takes care of businessThe NBA MVP race heats up and Kansas takes care of business

The NBA Most Valuable Player race heats up and Kansas takes care of business in the NCAA basketball championship on this edition of getthedaily.com Welcome to Get-the-Daily-dot-com. I'm Dana Ward here with your sports news update. The Kansas Jayhawks won their third NCAA Basketball Championship after defeating the Memphis Tigers 75-68 on Monday. The game was close from the start but with just under two minutes Memphis began to pull away. Kansas battled back and relied on a strategy of fouling as Memphis struggled with free throws throughout the season, making just over half of them. The strategy paid off and with a few seconds left in the game, Kansas was only down by 3. Kansas star Mario Chalmers shot a heavily contested three pointer with 2 seconds left. It somehow went in to and tied the game. Kansas used their momentum to take over the extra period and secure the win. The loss was only the second one this season for Memphis, which won an NCAA-record 38 games this season. The Detroit Tigers have still not won a game this season and are 0-7. The team, which has the league's second- highest payroll at $138 million, was favored by many to win their division and get to the World Series. The Tigers were dealt their latest loss by the Boston Red Sox, who won the game 5-0. So far this season, the Tigers have been outscored 44-15. Their struggles on the offense are especially vexing as the Tigers spent tens of millions of dollars acquiring Edgar Renteria and Miguel Cabrera. The team has also been hampered by injuries to key players as can be seen on their 15 day DL which includes Curtis Granderson and Fernando Rodney. Starting pitcher Justin Verlander summed up the team's feelings by saying "It's definitely embarrassing." He went to say that they were playing too "casual" and were wrong to think that things will come around on their own. Detroit lost their first 6 games and home and now face 5 straight road games against the Red Sox and White Sox. The NBA season is drawing to a close which means the MVP race is heating up. This year's top 5 candidate list includes Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Tim Duncan and Chris Paul. Paul and Bryant are widely seen to be the two front runners, though James, Duncan and Garnett are not out of the race. An LA Times- led national poll of sports reporters confirms this sentiment as Bryant and Paul appeared as the winner in all but 3 ballots. Garnett would be in the top two, but has fought injuries and lack of playing time since his Celtics generally have the game in hand by the start of the fourth quarter. Bryant is considered a strong candidate because of his performance this year and in years past. For all of his accolades, championships, and fame Bryant has never won a league MVP award. Paul has led his team to first place in their division and his numbers are competitive with Bryant's, making up for points with assists. Voting begins immediately after the regular season and is done by sports reporters and broadcasters throughout the country. That's your sports news for now. I'm Dana Ward. Thanks for watching Get-the-Daily-dot-com. Check back soon for more updates.

Silly crooks, haunted stations, mud wrestling, and more. Keep watching for the unique news update. Hi everyone. Welcome to Get-the-Daily-dot-com. I m Dana Ward dishing you the latest and most interesting in news. Female mud wrestling has moved beyond being just a spectator sport for fun, and in Siberia, it s now an actual competition. Russia is holding its first ever regional event. The technical rules are hard to forget: No biting, no scratching and no hair-pulling. Event organizers claim that it s not actually mud in the wrestling area, but the women are rolling around in special therapeutic clay from a local spa. And it seems a Pennsylvania town has asked paranormal investigators to check-out its police station. According to some station employees, creepy things have been occurring there for years, and only the fact that the place is haunted can explain it. Some say the typewriter types without anyone pressing the buttons, the attic door springs open when bolted shut and the sidewalk-sweeper starts-up without a battery or key. Everyone at the police station is awaiting the paranormal report results. Over the weekend, a Michigan woman at a bank left her photo i-d and correct address on an account application just before pulling-out a handgun and demanding cash from the banker. Within 1-hour, police had arrested the woman. Postal workers in Wisconsin making the rounds are now armed with water pistols. It has become customary during this time of the year for workers on a specific route to get attacked by wild turkeys. A regional wildlife supervisor for the State Department warns locals to stop feeding the turkeys as the wild animals seem to be less afraid, and more likely to attack humans. The supervisor also says postal workers are likely attached most because the colors red-white-and-blue attract the wild animal as it s customary for the male turkey s head to change to all of those colors during mating season. That s today s interesting news update. For Get-the-Daily-dot-com, I m Dana Ward. Thanks for watching!

A $4 Million Dollar Internet Bill?! And Pirates Still Exist?!A $4 Million Dollar Internet Bill?! And Pirates Still Exist?!
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta)
April 07, 2008

Can you imagine racking up a 4-million-dollar internet bill and then not paying it? Or what about being hijacked by pirates? These all happened to someone somewhere. We ve the stories and more coming up next. Welcome to Get-the-Daily-dot-com. I m Dana Ward here with your news update. Due to some big-time mixups, the Navajo nation which spans 4 U-S states may lose its internet service today. It seems in a tribal audit of last year s spending, the internet provider allegedly overbilled the tribe 2-times the correct amount. That means 4-million instead of 2-million. This caused the universal administrator to withhold half of the payment from the provider. Of course, the internet provider says it will shut down service if payment is not received. The administrator maintains that the questioned 2-point-1-million-dollars will not be paid until the billing is straightened out. Over the weekend, pirates hijacked a luxury cruise ship off the eastern coastline of Africa. According to C-N-N, the 2-hundred-88-foot ship did not have any passengers aboard, as it was returning to port with about 30 crew members. The hostages reportedly have been provided with food as well as washing opportunities. However, France s Prime Minister said that while he wants to avoid force in freeing the hostages, he is not ruling out any options, including paying ransom. The U-S Navy has been patrolling the waters off Somalia to help decrease piracy, as the country s government does not have the money or resources to do it itself. An international piracy tracking association estimates in its annual report that global pirate attacks increased 10-percent last year, which was the first rise in 3-years. And a mass chain email is circulating the internet asking readers to boycott filling up their gas tanks as specific company stations. The email says that if everyone receiving the chain stops going to Exxon and Mobil stations for the rest of the year gas prices will plummet down to the 2-dollar range. This email also recommends forwarding the message to at least 10-people and then calculates exactly how it can potentially reach up to 300-million people. Sounds like a good idea when gas prices hit an all-time-high this weekend. However, some internet sites are claiming this brilliant idea is simply an email hoax. Record high gas prices are not climbing 5-cents over the last 2-weeks. That s your news update for now. I m Dana Ward. Thanks for watching Get-the-Daily-dot-com. Check back tomorrow for more updates.
How did Clooney's much awaited film do? - Stay Tuned! How did Clooney's much awaited film do? - Stay Tuned!
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta)
April 07, 2008

Another weekend, another box office. How did Clooney's much awaited film do? We've the all of the results coming up next! It's box office results time on Get-the-Daily-dot-com. I'm Dana Ward counting down the Top 5! On its opening weekend, the number 5 spot goes to a scary movie. It's 'The Ruins', racking up 7-point-8-million. This is a seriously freaky flick about 20-somethings who hit up Mexico on a va-kay and discover evil - yes, evil - while on an archeological dig in the jungle. And staying in the top-5 on its fourth week in a row, is the adult-friendly animation, Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out pronto. Moving right along to number-3, it's another brand new movie. We've got Nim's Island. This one is based on a children's book, so it may not be your cup of tea. But just in case you are interested, the fantasy includes a young girl, a scientist father and a lonely author, all trying to conquer an island and all of the crazy "things" on the island. Movie goers paid 13-point-3-million for this one over the weekend. Staying close by, with 13-point-5-million, at number 2, it's another opening weekend film. And I think the only reason it debuted at this position is because of its oh-so-hot cast, including the hansome George Clooney and the talented Renee Zellweger. It's a pretty cheesy, football period piece, but at least, the old-school uniforms are pretty cool to see. Staying strong, almost cheating it's way to number 1, it's 21 bringing in over 15 million. Remember, this is the flick about M-I-T math geniuses taking on cards in Vegas. That's the Top-5 at the box office! Be sure to check back next week for the latest results. For Get-the-Daily-dot-com, I'm Dana Ward.
